The Uh-Mazing Burgers and Smoothies of Baguio Blue Tent
Laaadies annnd gentlemennn,
prepare to be amazed …
… at this jaw dropping (most likely, jaw locking, “tall order” if you try to eat it the regular way =b) burger and the whole Blue Tent lineup!!!
While having dindin at Mr. Ching a month ago, Tita Lea raved about the strips upon strips of bacon sandwiched in between buns she and Tito just had for lunch. (How foodies roll. Food is always the subject … before eating, while eating, after eating *tee hee) A picture of a giant burger was formed in my mind and I can truly say I wasn’t expecting that outrageous one in the photo above. Yowzer, right?

Smoothies: Strawberry mint, guyabano, mango mint (“,) (Compared to shakes, smoothies don’t have cream in them.)
Tita Beth, the first one who told Doglas‘ human mommy and daddy, chimed in so full of gusto with a mouthwatering description of Blue Tent’s special strawberry mint smoothie, that as soon as we were done with dinner, we convoyed to Pacdal. Onward, food exploration, ho!
Looking at the menu (2018 menu here), all the burger options sounded so scrumptious, we couldn’t help but try out some singles. (I maintain, I’m not a glutton, just an explorer of food. \m/) From the few bites Race and I got of our chillibacon burger, we already marveled at the firm and dense 100% pure beef patty and the little squishy minced bits of garlic that peppered the ground meat.

Singles of chillibacon burger (not just bacon and chili but with a patty); tomato, lettuce, cheese burgers, and chilli hotdog. =)
Being a sucker for guyabano, we opted for this instead of the strawberry mint smoothie that night. I did get a sip from Tita Beth’s glass and the taste sensation from it was enough for me to think of kicking myself for not getting that. Doh! The guyabano smoothie was still fab, mind you, but this … THIS was something else entirely.
Race also got halo-halo which was a-o-o-ok-k-kay. *shivers I think I’d have to have a repeat of that in broad daylight to appreciate it fully. =D
With the rest of our burger brought home, I sliced half of it for my brother. He relished in the bursting flavors of the chili con which his half had more of. (“There was bacon in there?!”, he asked. *snickers) I ate my half (full of bacon) early the next day and it made me want to set off for Blue Tent then and there. Sadly, I started to feel under the weather at midday. (Must’ve been the cold night with all the cold foodstuff. I can hear my uncle now: “Yan kasi nag ta-Tarzan-Tarzan” =)) )

Nightcap at Blue Tent with Tita Lea and Tito Roland’s ultimate foodie family: Nathaniel, Lola, Tita Beth, Tito Tony, Kiko, AA and Miguel. (Thanks again for sharing this discovery with me!)
It wasn’t until a month later that I felt well enough to return to Blue Tent for more of their smoothies and burgers. (One time, big time sick again. Weh, despicable colds!) The TLC burger though a short stack compared to bacon chili burger was a great burger composed of fresh veggies, that wonderful beef patty and just the right moistness coming from the cheese. =)
I forgot to mention that this hole in the wall burger joint also packs their burgers with fries. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, this is the first batch of French fries I didn’t have to eat with catsup. It’s a mi-racle; no “ketchup with a side of fries please” for me when at the tent.
Overwhelmed with what else to get, we chose Blue Tent’s newest dish. At first, I thought it was also a hamburger, this, making a name for itself as a burger spot, and when we got a box container, I was surprised. Pasta this good is always welcome, late lunch or any other time. ^^,
Enjoying ourselves too much at the hamburger tent’s tree house/riprap house across the street, the rain caught up with Race and I and rained us in. This gave us extra time for a chili dog. Hello again, flavorful chilli con karne … so much in the hotdog bun, it takes a bite for one to realize the hotdog is buried underneath it all.

Rained in. Pay no attention to Race’s serious expression here; we were uber happy. *hee
Being another eatery that makes it so easy to come back, I dragged my brother out with X+1 to marvel at the freak of burger nature, a colossal sized burger. Four patties alternating with strips of bacon and fries is how this bacon burger gets colossal. A great protein stacking meal, if you ask me.

Siblings hanging out at the tree house/riprap house’s little porch.
Dividing the stuff between the bread buns like dealing cards, it was then that I got a closer look at the cheese. It looked a lot like quick melt cheese but nicely melted over and with the bacon and fries. Y-U-M, special cheese sauce!
Tumba na si Jollibee! (Sorry, bee). Even if Blue Tent’s versions are not that “langhap sarap” (I’m still wondering how the chain makes their products so aromatic though), down from my pedestal, the JB burgers went. (Junior Champ used to be my fave when I was a store marketing assistant and when that was phased out, the relatively new cheezy bacon mushroom took its place.)
BLT burger, besides being delectable is a pretty burger. Triple size, it’s reminiscent of the hamburgers served at 19th Tee of the old Camp John Hay. (“,) (Of course, I didn’t really get to eat those as a Magnolia girl there then. I could only go street urchin on the dishes coming out of the kitchen, looking at them with longing. *hee Well, look at us now! Thanks to Blue Tent for these easy on the pocket hamburgers.)

The beautiful triple sized bacon, lettuce, tomato burger and me. It was actually taller but it started to fall over as soon as we unwrapped it.
(Still a bit full at dinnertime after our protein packed lunch, better half and I got some fries to go from McDonald’s for a nighttime snack. Off the pedestal, McDo fries go, for me, too. Sorry, clown.)
X marks Blue Tent for good food in Baguio. Come one, come all! Step right up, step right up, and taste the delicious and most incredibly priced burgers, smoothies and fries in Baguio! Uh-mazing!
Strrraight to my list of favorite places to eat at in the City of Pines.
Food: On and on, I yammered about Blue Tent’s burgers #addictedtoBlueTentburgers
Ambiance: Again, this is a hole in the wall burger outlet. It’s a bit lacking in the way of weather proofing for typhoon type rain and wind. (Stay safe, warm and dry in the midst of TS Carina, nice eatsplorers!) Especially with tall orders, you might want to get these to go, because they’re guaranteed to be messy. You’ll be free to enjoy these beefburgers … complete with finger lickin’ at home. *finger gun

The hole in the wall burger joint that is Blue Tent. In light of day and dark of night, in rain and sun, together as one. #feelingmakata

Ohmigodd!! Mga nahahanap mo na kaiinan Xine! Best food blog ka talaga. Sira na talaga diet dito, grabe mga meat.
Hello there, Mario! We have Tita Lea and her super foodie family to thank for discovering and pointing us out to Blue Tent burgers and smoothies. They were joking with the colossal burgers, bili daw ng extra loaf bread … one colossal burger feeds many. \m/
Thanks for visiting Find Good Baguio Foods again! I hope you have a great time trying out the food at Blue Tent food stall! (“,)
Great restaurant find! Only wow to say for Blue Tent burgers. Even if there is a typhoon, I will go for the burgers you called tall orders.
Hiyee, Nickie! Me too, still going wow about the food at Blue Tent. And yes, even in this torrential rain, my mind is on a strawberry mint shake, some pasta and more burgers! Blue Tent na soon! (“,)
Hi miss Xine, no pictures po of the menu? heehee
Yes, it’s in a whole nother post, a Baguio restaurant menu post. (“,)
oops never mind! I found it 😀
*hihi Have a great food adventure at Blue Tent, abbianzalala! (“,)
Hi, Xine. Can Blue Tent deliver? and the patty is that homemade?
Hello, Janna! Oh, Blue Tent is too hole in the wall to have the manpower to do deliveries, methinks. You could send them a message with the contact number I gave in this burger centric post to pre order and you can just drop by to pick them up.
Yes, beef patties home made. Compact and dense just like Race likes stuff and with lots of minced bits of garlic which I like, too. *hihi
Happy Blue Tent experience whenever you get to crossing them off your Baguio restaurant list! Thanks so much! (“,)
OMG, Xine! Did you try the newest Blue Tent dish, the ribs with potato salad? No words. Their food here is so delicious. Thank you for telling us about Blue Tent food stall, Find Good Baguio Foods!
Uhaha, yes, Candy, we already tried the ribs and potato salad the day it came out. Agreed, OMG! The intense barbecue sauce on the tender meat on the rib and the cooling potato salad, FTW! And for P120, whoa, such a fabulous deal Blue Tent gives us again.
A pleasure spreading the word about great places to eat at in Baguio City for nice people like you, Candy! Thank you so much for the support! (“,) Happy food adventures to you!
I really really would like to try Blue Tent’s burgers and shakes.. I’ve been waiting for this day.. marked my calendar… sssssoooooooooo excited to taste their famous burgers.
My husband and I along with our son went to Blue Tent around 10:30 AM this morning.. We even walked from Wright Park to #58 Siapno Road, yet they’re not open!! I asked one of their personnel if they will be open and guess what she answered me? “Ay ma’am kakamarket lang po. Mag antay lang kayo dyan, syempre mag aayos pa kami”…. wowwwww.. I’m not demanding.. pero there’s a better way to deliver that message… kalokaaaa… sinunod koh lng nmn kung anoh nabasa koh sa website na open na sila ng 10 AM.. So I assumed na prior to 10AM eh nka readyna sila…. mababaw man pero nahurt akoh at nadismaya… na hanggang ngaun na gnggwa kon tong comment koh eh msma pa din loob koh 😦

Hello, Nikki! I hope you still stayed to get some Blue Tent Burgers so at least you got something out of the aggravation.
It saddens me to hear that you came upon the resto and they weren’t ready yet but this does happen. I recall this happening to us a number of times and yes, even at well established establishments. (One of the downsides of being early, I guess.)
Here’s hoping none of us ever comes upon a restaurant they’d like to dine at, closed (when it says so on their details that they’re supposed to be open) again. I hope you relating your experience here helped a bit in lightening your pain. Keep on stepping and keep on eatsploring. (“,)
