Noodle King Eatery: Not Your Average Noodle House
While I’m a firm believer of paying for something good (There’s no such thing as a free lunch), I’ve recently learned that one can still have it all in the way of huge servings of food that’s well presented on the plate and tastes good, with restaurants that allow our money to go a long way (and these are not carinderias). It’s because of this value they give to my hard earned big sweaty wads of moolah that my flavor for months on end have been restos like Ozark Diner, Foggy Mountain Cookhouse and Sensational Blendz. \m/
I am happy to announce there is a another addition to this list of good buys for munchables: Noodle King Eatery! (I’m so glad they found me. *giggles)
Sightseeing on their Google page, it wasn’t difficult to be takaw tingin. Race and I made sure to have a late lunch (… or was that early dinner *hee) at their secluded hole in the wall the very next day.
We passed the waiting time for our soupy bowls marveling at their nice tabletops while we enjoyed some saucers of side dishes.
As simple as it looked, my bowl of aromatic noodles shouldn’t be underestimated. Piled high with slices and strips of veggies, this just might be what the baby of pho and tom yum would look like, if ‘they’ ever got married. =))
Across the table from me, Race ate and slurped happily on his spicy sour pork noodles. Considering we didn’t expect how huge the bowls these large orders would be, I found myself spooning the broth from Race’s noodle bowl into my mouth. That hot and sour mix was just wonderful! ^^, It was an amazing treat also, to get a bite of coriander from the leafy vegetable mix swimming in our soups. Thought that only worked for samosa dips, but no.
As about-to-explode full as I was after this meal, I ordered the noodle eatery’s Asian salad, pork fried rice and another hot and sour pork noodle soup to go. I wanted my brother to get a taste of that and I was just thinking forward making sure I had something to eat for the day after.
Oh, my, that salad. =D Picking at a few strips of wombok with drops of yummy dressing when we got home, I thought this serving was another one for my list of favorite salads. True, it did get ‘lapse’ (JB/fastfood staff term there) for breakfast the next day but it was still good. My sister would testify to that.
The pork fried rice made next day’s lunch a great meal although I found I wanted to dress it up some more with a sprinkling of soy-calamansi juice sauce. *hihi
The beauty of dining at an affordable place is that you can easily come back to it whenever you feel like it; and boy, did I feel like it yesterday after going for a long time without taking anything in. =)

Of table tops and one who will soon want to be naturalized as the Noodle King’s constituent. *snickers
With my brother in tow, since Race was MIA (get well soon, love), we reveled in the salad in all its plated glory. Being more knowledgeable now of how big the soup servings were, my brother and I shared the bowl of savory braised noodle. To try something on the other end of the spectrum … the dry spectrum, we also got chicken chow mein.
We have another winner from the Noodle King’s offering in that plate. Soupless although it was, it was mighty tasty. My sibling actually saved a forkful of that to enjoy last. (“,)
True to its name, the braised noodle was peppery hot. How we welcomed a slurp from the soup spoon that had strips of refreshing cucumber or a coriander leaf in it for that cooling effect.
UPDATE 01/02/2016: If coriander/cilantro is not a taste you’re accustomed to, you can always inform our Noodle King Chef Eric to hold back on that. (I’ll gladly take that out of your bowls and plates too if I’m there on your eatery visit. *snickers)
X marks Noodle King Eatery for good food in Baguio. Noodle King rulez! Your majesty. *bows
Ambiance: Very nice looking eatery/carinderia, if I do say so myself.
Price: Not a bowl/plate going past P100 and the servings are huge and heavy. (Menu, click here.) Second visit with my brother, we saw two bowls of noodles feed 10 (2 adults, 5 teens, 3 kids) for merienda. I’m not kidding!

Coming into the road going to Pinsao from Easter School, take note of the green waiting shed. A few steps before the waiting shed, on the other side of the street, there’s a little road and an an unnamed eatery (look out for the yellow “We Serve” sign =b). Go in that little road and Noodle King Eatery is the light green store before the off-white apartment.
Thank you for leaving a comment on the blog, Maam Raiza. Long live, Noodle King!
