Eatscapade La Trinidad: Exousia Chari Diner

So we’re back at our neighbor’s … which is fast becoming another food trip venue. \m/

In one of eatsplorer Jo‘s trips there, she spotted a diner with an intriguing name and she sent word to me about it. (Thanksies, foodie friend!) Building names escape me, for sure, and it was lucky that we stopped for gas at the Shell station in La Trinidad. While our dear eatsploring mobile, Thunder, was getting his fill, I looked around and thought I could make out the name of the orange building nearby. ^^,

Race at La Trinidad metro Baguio Exousia Chari Diner 2017

Bakery on the first floor (as per Jo’s description), diner on the second; we were in the right place. Glancing at the Exousia diner menu, I had in mind the first lines of an 80s song. ♪ ♫  “Been around the world and I, I, I … ” ♪  You see, they got among others, a Thai salad and Italian foodstuff like pizza with an interesting topping of rosemary. (The basis of the fascination: I never came across pizza with this herb topping before) Rosemary and cheese, that was it.  They also have a western pasta meeting the east, with a Cordilleran twist, to boot.

Thai salad: Som tum =)

Nicely made som tum with cherry tomato halves, crushed peanuts and bits of string beans but we thought, it needed more Ang Sarap Patis. *giggles  That didn’t stop me from spooning away at the dressing after all the green papaya strips and veggies were consumed though. *more giggles  Race said it would’ve helped too if they chilled the salad for a bit.

La Trinidad metro Baguio Exousia Chari Diner kiniing bolognese pasta 2017

Kiniing bolognese pasta =D

The kiniing bolognese was a pretty little bowl of pasta. So refreshing that the native smoked meat was paired with a red sauce pasta and not carbonara … because it usually is … at least as far as I’ve seen in this food quest. Taste buds said it needed a sprinkling of salt so I put some and it was perfect. *fingertip kiss

Rosemary ‘n cheese pizza (“,)

The rosemary ‘n cheese pizza, as far as I’m concerned is the piece de resistance of Exousia Chari.  =D Thin crust, well distributed rosemary sprigs that were “cooked” well enough that it can easily be chewed and swallowed. (Based on my binging experience, I almost always take out rosemary because it’s just too darn firm in rubs or in garnishing, almost like it was a fish bone , but this one, oh, this one, nyum!)

Me and a slice of the crunchy thin crust rosemary and cheese pizza. \m/

Best possible crunchiness in the crust as well. Get a load of that, it’ s so crunchy, it’s not bending as I hold the slice up. I totally ignored the chili oil at ExousiaChari at all but I gave all my attention to the basil oil. Another dimension to flavor that gave to the perfect pizza. (“,)

La Trinidad metro Baguio Exousia Chari Diner banana mint smoothie 2017

Banana mint smoothie ^^,

As an afterthought, we got a glass of the diner’s banana mint smoothie. I was right on the nose thinking that they’d blend the banana with herba buena leaves. Perfect combo. Every sip had the right minty creaminess. (Had my brother tasted this, I know, I wouldn’t hear him say it tastes like toothpaste. =b)

X marks Exousia Chari Diner for good food. Such great joy we had from the food here (especially the pizza), that this newest food joint in La Trinidad makes it to my favorites category. =)

Food: 4 treasure chests

Service: 4 treasure chests

Ambiance: 4 treasure chests

Price: 3 treasure chests Smallish servings, I thought. I swear, I could’ve eaten everything that we ordered if we arrived at the diner famished. Before riding out to L.T. though, Race got me an all-in-topping Jolly Hotdog to keep the hunger beast modes at bay. *tee hee hee

Hello there. Yes, Exousia Chari Diner has fantastic pizzas. We just tried their Cubano pizza, mustard for sauce instead of tomato sauce. So amusing.

I hope you have a great time at this diner! Thanks for visiting this Baguio food blog! (“,)
