Baguio Grand Sierra Pines Hotel

Aha, finally, a powwow with P3! ❤ Here we are, lounging in the Grand Sierra Pines grounds after a hearty breakfast buffet. (P500 per pax, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Not sure yet if it’s daily since we’ve had friends who said, they did come one time and there was nothing set up. Sooo, I’ll get back to you on that, my foodie friends. UPDATE 07/04/2017: Daily breakfast buffet at GSP Hotel.)

For this short menu post, let’s flip a bit and start with updated menus first. What the hey, let’s go reverse alphabetical, too. =b

Updated Menus

1.) Pancake House

Apologies for the orange-y hue. We took our place at their umbrella-ed table and it was a fabulously sunny day. (“,)

I hope you got to try their specials before June ended. Gosh, I really loved those milkshakes (ube, most especially) and the mango strawberry mini pancakes. As for our PH faves list, we have a new addition: Their almondigas soup. Ahhh, happiness in comfort food. \m/ (Thank you so much, Ms. April, for inviting us for breakfast that definitely satisfied our cravings!)

2. Mang Ed Bakareta Cafe and Restaurant

More bistek … and for the same visit, we also got a true blue caldereta. *nomnomnom

1.) Rock’n Woods Cafe

Same vicinity as Subo, we have another restaurant that we like so much. Particularly for Race, this probably is his mega super duper favorite now. He finally found one after, what? Years of food questing? *hihi He already dubbed it his ‘man cave’. =))

That’s dinakdakan and mix mix with the menu. Wee!

Meaty eats, substantial portions … and get this, since we had short order plates, it was an afterthought that we got some rice to eat our pulutan/viands with. Boy, were we surprised! At P10, we were expecting cup rice and We.Got.A.Heap. =D Thanks, RocknWoods!

Enter the man cave. ^^,

2. CUCI by Cucinino

Cucinino‘s very own ‘store-store’ and with even more foodstuff to offer. Stroganoff for the win … with pasta or with mashed potatoes. =)

3.) Baguio Beans Cafe

So, we found ourselves in this cafe in PMA, one, since we were attending a wedding there. (Shout out to Cyril and Joanna! Again, congratulations and best wishes!) We arrived pretty early and I realized I forgot to eat. *hee Two, I got a heads up from my cousin that there’s something munchies related to check out there. (Thanks, Ate Abby!) Don’t you just love it when stars align like that? Victory dance.

I was gunning for a monster pizza breakfast because I heard they had a giant sized one but upon seeing the box, I cowered in fear. Three people can’t finish that, methinks. (I’m talking normal regular meal eating people here. I wouldn’t know about those who skipped some meals and the famished, all right? *snickers)

The simple R sized pizza (by South Crust Pizza in Paranaque) with the Beans Cafe drinks proved to be just what we needed to fuel the oncoming eventful day. Yeh! My brother and Race concur that they really enjoyed the Beans Cafe hot drinks (green tea latte and cafe mocha). ^^,

Wow wow wow!! I want to try that monster size pizza. But the cafe is in PMA. That’s so far. 😦

    • XiNE says :

Aww. =( You might like to make a sightseeing trip and food trip with friends when you’re all free one of these days? I was just talking with my foodie posse about that and they did say it has been a while since they’ve been to Philippine Military Academy. You can say, a Baguio Beans Cafe food adventure is coming soon. *hihi

Here’s hoping you’ll have just the perfect day to hang out in PMA and enjoy one of their monster pizzas there. Thanks for visiting this food blog! Happy eatscapades! (“,)

Hello there, Mario! I know right! Baguio Beans Cafe’s monster pizza did get me riled up too. Imagine the “defeat” when I saw the box and realized we couldn’t hack it =)) I’ll get you yet monster pizza!

*heehaha Yes to rampa and lafang in PMA! I hope you have a great time whenever it is you plan to go.

Thank you so much, Mario, for leaving your fun commentary on the posts here. I really appreciate it. Cheers, foodie friend! (“,)

  3. Candy says :

Hi, Xine! For real, Cucinino is a restaurant? Is that in Porta Vaga? Thanks to your post about the Pancake House special I got to try the ube milkshake and the mini pancake. I also love that milkshake. Hopefully they keep it on in the regular menu. It is like you said it would be. It was creamy dreamy. Thanks, Xine.

    • XiNE says :

Hello there, Candy! CUCI is located in General Luna, the building that used to be Mary Immaculate across from Saint Louis Laboratory. I’m not sure if the Cucinino booth is still in Porta Vaga though.

Ohh, wee! So nice to hear you still got a chance to try the Pancake House season specials. Sadly, they’re gone … Fingers crossey, apple saucy, they rotate back or yes, make the creamy dreamy ube shake a regular fixture in the menu one of these days.

I hope you have a great time at CUCI. Thanks for dropping by again! Eatsplore away! (“,)
