Say hello to metro Baguio’s version of WALL-E, guys.
DALL-E (Dessert Allocation Load Lifter – Earth) Hello there, cutie!
I’ll dub thee, DALL-E though for his main job at this newly opened cafe. =)
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
So Thunder, our eatsploring mobile was put to the test again, with the long trip we made to Tuba, Marcos Highway. Our aim: The robot cafe called Zaxxun. When we arrived, we were met with Minion trashcan. #AlwaysAdorable Going up the stairs, we passed our reflections on the bronzed glass window … Just the right spot to check how you look. How’s my hair? Not too helmet hair, I hope. Windblown hair? *teehee
We lingered for a while beside the counter choosing dishes from the menu. If the place is busy, you get a calling system thingamajig that will light up and buzz to inform you when your order is ready for pick up at the counter. Otherwise, the (human) attendants will bring your order to you.

Which is what happened when we were the only patrons at the cafe at that moment. ^^, Up the indoor staircase, we walked through the different dining sections with robot decor, the robot mantra, the Zaxxun mindset and creed which means simply, discipline.
Stiff neck in the name of getting a mirror shot. I can’t help it with ceiling mirrors. *hee
It being a nice day in March, we took the table outside. Crunchy chewy cookies were delivered to our table for starters and as we sat there, we smelled our main dishes being cooked at the kitchen below the deck. Wee!

While waiting, I went around some more, noting little details. From the topmost level of the building, you have a fantastic 360 view of the area. It’s a great place to watch the sunset, too, which was fantastic yesterday; a nice, blinding, orange orb sinking behind the hills in the distance. Breathtaking!

When our orders were finally delivered to our table, the first thing I noticed was the pickled ginger/gari on both plates. Race’s pick as a tasty delicious barbecue beef sandwich. It was so tasty, the mayo was not even needed. On the side, banana chips for a texture change when needed. =D

My sundried tomato pesto pasta was a well made pasta. I can’t help but think that I should’ve gone with the bacon mushroom bolognese though. Anyway, next visit. It was an impressive plate with three bread slices … too toasted crunchy for my taste since it makes it a bit of a challenge to wipe the olive oil settling at the bottom of the dish, and I don’t want to waste a drop of that healthy oil. *hihi

We ate our savory choices somewhat quickly, in anticipation of the cafe’s piece de resistance: The robot dessert server. #Excited
EVA delivered to us a sweet treat of coffee jelly (the jelly was bouncy sago). A taste explosion that might have been a little too sweet with the perfectly ripe mango and choco gear that melted into the warm coffee mixture after a few seconds. Thankfully, we still had gari, pangtangal umay. Our dessert gave me enough sugar and coffee to sugar crash early in the evening, and then be eyes wide open and brain awake in the late evening. =b

At the end of our meal, the staff eagerly showed us the adorable little robots they have on display in the “Learning Room”. Hear me squeal with delight, I was so amused (I’ll insert the video of them performing one of these days, foodie friends.) (UPDATE 04/02/2019: As promised.)

How many robots serve the food in Zaxxun? How do they do it? Facial recognition?
Hello, Marcus! I only saw two at our visit, one per floor of Zaxxun Robot Cafe. WALL-E and EVA are controlled by the human servers through a remote. Would be super fantastic if they get your facial rec idea in though. That would be even more high tech.
