Notable Edibles #23 – Afters by Pedro’s (Japanese Cheesecake)
Another Notable Edibles/ Good Eats by Delivery feature is in order.
As we’ve just discovered … Well, our eager beaver foodie FB messenger pal, Sir Dan, discovered (Thanksies, as always. ^^,) …
Afters by Pedro’s
They’re an online store whose main offering is Japanese cheesecake.
You know, those cheese cakes that look and feel a lot like cotton (but surely taste better than cotton =b)?
While Pedro’s can serve your order up the next day, if you make it within their order taking window (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), I opted to get my cheese keki treats at the beginning of the weekend.
With a number of flavors to choose from, I had to weigh my options carefully. Hhmmm, hhmmm. I decided to go full on Japanese by getting the classic and matcha. (Price ranges from P230 to P250.)
So TGIF arrived. [Please note that Pedro’s Desserts is partnered with a food delivery service, and there’s a separate charge for the delivery (P99). (This little detail wasn’t mentioned on their page, so kigtot my heart a tiny wee bit. *tahaha)]
In the unboxing, I was greeted by a speck confetti of confectioners’ sugar. *hihi Like sand, it got everywhere. =D (Even before I tried to blow some away to reveal the Pedro’s Afters imprint on the cakes.) When I transferred it to the plate for slicing, it wasn’t as jiggly as I imagined it would be because it was already cool. (and heaven knows, I was so ready to ‘get jiggLy with it’. =)) )
Anyhoo, it was dense, especially the matcha flavored one, as Race likes cakebread (or any dessert) to be. Of the two, the classic was more fluffy, melt in our mouths cheesy, but what a nice green tea taste on the green colored keki. (“,)
In a flash, the cakes were gone. The only thing we were left with was the paper lining at the bottom of our sweet treat … and even then, our furry lovies, were gunning for it. *puppy dog eyes and waggy tails
