Good Eats by Delivery Baguio

Because sometimes we’re bitten by the bug that we no likey to go out. #ShutInMoments

And if you’re anything like me, who doesn’t get anything substantial under house arrest (chips for breakfast, chips for lunch, chips for dinner? *tee hee), we need a little help. Luckily, online stores are mushrooming in and around our fair food trip city at the same rate as brick and mortar food joints are opening.

Here are five of the online food providers we’ve tried so far:

1.) Julie’s Homemade Palabok, Atbp.

Pre order needed for these food items, of course. (Days in advance please.) Personal fave, the crabstick salad. \m/ Chockful of crab stick slices, cucumber cubes; minced bell pepper, celery and onions; whole kernel corn, grated carrots, and ripe mango cubes, makes one exciting salad which you can pair with Ms. Julie’s palabok (good as a main meal or as a snack). Since I’m a salad girl, the mango pomelo shrimp salad fits the bill too and is equally a winner to me. Refreshing salad, anyone?

2.) Kanzen Sushi Roll Baguio

Instant gratification for maki craving. Wee! They have different size orders to offer for just the kind of makizushi monster you are and they were quick to respond, too. Before the 30 minutes wait time was up, the platter of 36 pieces was delivered and was major satisfying for three. At first, I did try to hog it all, but it quickly got monotonous *maniacal laugh  That’s the Kanzen platter,  it encourages us to share. =)

And more of those crabsticks I seem to have fun eating, in the form of their kani salad: simple mix of cabbage strips and crab sticks, Kewpie mayo, and a few pieces of ripe mango.

3.) Mum n’ Hub Kitchen

Many different pasta offerings aside from what we tried here – the creamy creamy chicken and mushroom spinach fettuccine. Our top pick from the lot is the beef moussaka. What a fantastic way to munch on eggplant. From boring to fab with all that cheese, nyum. ^^, To cap off this meal, Mum N Hub serves mini apple pies.

4.) La Dolce Minis by Kyle

Preorder (days in advance please) for this sweet shop as well. Mostly because the slots fill up quickly and oh my, should you try these cheesecake bites, or should you try these cheesecake bites? =))

They make them so well at this online shop that the New York cheesecake, the simplest one, gets Race’s vote, as well as mine. Then come green tea and Oreo mini. All in all,  we loved each and every well balanced flavored one. Surely, Ms. C and Sir Tito B of Le Coq Bleu/Floral will back me up on this. We feasted on these for dessert after a Vietnamese themed din-din and not a morsel of it was left at the end of the evening. =D

(I do have an issue about the dimensions of these delectable munchies though. Says on their page that it’s 2.5 inches circumference but they really were bigger than that. It crossed our minds, they might have meant diameter. But then if it’s diameter, it would be small. I’d know, I measured and it was 1.5 inches diameter. Also, it’s not 2 inches tall, unless we’re counting the mini cookie topping. Anyhoo. UPDATE 07/18/17: Updated dimension info on the La Dolce Minis page. Yey! Thank you, Ms. Christine.)

5.) Anchorwheel Bistro

While their bistro is located quite far from town, they bring their pizzas closer to us by delivering. We got ourselves a four seasons type pizza yesterday, composed of carnivore, Hawaiian, Italiano, and sailor’s delight. In addition, on the saccharine side, we ordered half-half of chocolate and purple yam. The dough was delightfully soft and squishy, (with stuffed crust action on the Anchor Wheel pizzas), the red sauce with a sweet-ish tinge.  (“,) Both the ube stuffed and chocolate stuffed four layers were dee-lish, but I lean more towards the choco one, a real sweet tooth pleaser.

Carnivore, Hawaian, and Italiano pizzas. Some sailor must’ve stolen the sailor’s delight. The sailor is a darn pirate. =))

[We had to move our delivery time since we ran into a hiccup of out of stock ube so we waited till they got new stocks of the yam mash. They took pretty long in the delivery, an hour, and we were given the wrong price, so I didn’t have any left to tip the rider. Sorry, manong. =(

When I opened the box of our savory pizza, the sailor’s delight (and all its crabstick glory) was missing when it was explicit in our convo that that was available. *sniff sniff  They later sent me a message that they forgot to put that in. Oh well, bechamel; oh well, caramel; oh well, mackerel. Nothing to be done but to keep on stepping. In another order perhaps? Hhmmm.]

UPDATE 12/29/2017: I finally got to take a bite out of the sailor’s delight pizza at our excursion to Tuding to see the action at the Anchorwheel kitchen with our own eyes. Just as I imagined, the crabstick loaded pizza was a beautiful thing to behold with its fellow toppings of shrimp, mussels and onion leeks.
