… post to put the spotlight on another notable edible we just found out about [but it’s been in the metro Baguio food scene (and who knows where else) for years, I could just kick myself for only hearing about this in 2018.]
Hensel-ann’s D’ Original Buko Pies
I will cut myself some slack though because it’s mostly been home based all this time, orders taken by phone/cellphone and only now, has it made it to Facebook, as an online store, through Lola Ana Linda’s grandson. =) (The namesake of the buko pies, we’re told, is the name of Lola’s first ever grandchild.)
Classic buko pie ^^,
Available in a wide range of flavor combos (Mango, way! Langka, wow! \m/) besides classic, such a fun way to enjoy buko pies now. While I also like pies like these to have slabs of coconut meat in them and this has mostly coco strips mixed in a ‘custard’ (like maja) with well balanced flavors (Read: Just the right sweetness (“,) ) and then completed with a delightful topping then sandwiched in a light, chewy crust, it’s quite a delightful snackable. =D
