Le Coq Floral: A Touch of Provence in the City of Pines
What did I tell you?

The face of Le Coq Bleu and Le Coq Floral. Looking elegant and exceedingly accomplished, I must say. (“,)
That with a little extra time and with getting more free rein, Ms. C can add more flare to the Suello Village Elizabeth Court home stay, Le Coq Floral.
Add flare she did. \m/
When we returned to the homestay, it was like coming to Le Coq Floral in an alternate universe. (Cue Fringe TV show theme.) Before we even entered the house, the changes were already noticeable as we stood in front of the gate, about to ring the door bell. The patio fence was extended in a way that it reached the ledge of the master’s bedroom balcony.
Entering the gate, Race and I saw that a corner of the space for the garden is now devoted to another table set up. Wee! The perfect spot for people who like to sit amid the trees and flowers, lost in thought. (Re-cue Love Story theme ♫ Where do I begin … ♫♪ #feelingsenti.) Or just a nice little space to be for snack time or even breakfast.
Inside the house, the theme colors have been switched to a yellow and blue scheme: The colors of Provence, France. (“,) (Take a look-see at the old setup here.)
Looking at the new fence from the patio table side, I couldn’t wait to see the vines grow enough to creep up on it. For now, I guess, I have to be content with holly and Christmas decor hanging there. (And I am, I am content with the holiday decorations. *hihi)
While there are many interesting pieces in the living room that became even more cheery with the new shade, a fantastic accent to the room is the bouquet of flowers painted above the wall separating the sala from the staircase. This mural was created by Ms. Didi Foronda.
The room on the first floor, dubbed the Sunflower room, can now be booked. An especially good choice of a room for those who are not particularly into climbing up and down the stairs to get to their cushy beds. =b
I didn’t get to highlight the tall window facing the stairway in the previous feature post on Le Coq Bleu’s branch, so let me do it now. I just love wide (or tall) windows! This one’s “swarmed with butterflies”. =)
The first time we were around the floral home stay, I already found the Rose Room quite nice. It got even prettier with three of its walls painted white. What a wonder, colors do make.
Of course, there will be a view of the living room from the top. Filled with holiday cheer from the X’mas decor as well as suitably flowery by the beautiful paper flowers made by Sir Dandi Carao, another eye candy detail in the “family room”. ^^,
Back in the Leaf Room, no longer has it got tiny green splashes of color on its walls but it’s totally white now. The biggest perk of staying in this room: Your own balcony.
The Lavender Room gets a face lift with its blue painted wall and a spruced up headboard. Wow, right?
Such relaxing hues in here … Let me hang out at the lavender room a bit.
Meanwhile, Race parks himself in front of the fireplace. For now, it’s got tea lights for illumination and heat but it’s always ready for a roaring fire on one of the chilly Baguio nights you happen to be staying at Le Coq Floral. =D
(Get a load of Sir Dandi’s creation. Mr. Carao is a freelance florist and event stylist. Do leave word on the comments space below, if you’d like to get info on how to get these beauties for decoration, too.)
Let’s do a closer inspection of the indoor breakfast nook, shall we? The intimate table for two. Check out the fab flower design on the light fixture over that little table, niiice!
While we’re hanging around this nook, you might be wondering why I kept saying home stay. Info bite alert: Thing is, what the blue floral house offers is altogether different from a transient house. Here, you/we, as guests adjust to the host’s lifestyle as you/we experience their food and culture.
And so we come to the end of this blogpost tour of Baguio’s little Provencal house. Where else will we end up at but one of my favorite rooms – the dining room. *heehaha What’s for lunchies, Ms. C and Sir Tito B?
Rates at the homestay:
Leaf room – P2,500 for 2
Sunflower room – P2,500 for 2
Rose room – P2,200 for 3
Lavender room – P2,000 for 2
Attic – P1,500 for 3
Breakfast included.
A French home stay experience awaits you.
***If you’d like to have a meal at Le Coq Floral (like we did for my brother’s birthday bash), lunch or dinner reservations are also welcome providing it’s made a week in advance. Osso bucco? Lamb tagine? Salt-baked chicken? *droolfest!
