UPDATE: Forest House …and IdeaSpace National Competition
I don’t think I’ve ever been to Forest House in the holiday season. (Giving the tourists a chance to experience it =D). Again, I’m tearing my hair out that I didn’t go until last night. (Thanks to Sir Vince of http://lakbaybaguio.com/, Maam Nick, Sir Earl, Maam Mica and Maam Christine of SMART. (“,))
While the establishment might look like the bistro and cafe we know (and love – winning the award for the Philippines’ best restaurants year after year, way to go, Forest House! ^^,) on the outside, the inside is dressed up for the holidays and Christmas cheer. With their decorations (the most beautiful I’ve seen *hihi) that adorn the walls/doors (huge and thick Christmas stockings – seems like these can carry a ton of gifts *whoo-hooo), the mantelpiece (the most lush boughs of holly), the tables (holiday themed napkin rings), the windows (curtains in Christmas colors/patterns), the dessert plates (you’ll see what I mean in the photos) and also the stunning tree on one side of the restaurant, it’s hard not to feel excited for Christmas here. The rustic homey feel that is the Forest House ambiance goes so well with the holiday ambiance. To top things off, everything on the Forest House playlist is Christmas songs. Christmas is truly in the air (most especially, inside Forest House *heehaha).

Twin pork chops with chunky apple sauce… my dinner. I think they forgot to give me gravy for my mashed potatoes? So the meal was kind of bland but then the quesadillas (photo bombing on the upper right) made up for it. (Ms. Sam will testify to that, too.) =D

Blueberry cheesecake (take two for 12-13-2012 *heee) Hey, it’s not that cheesy either…again, all that still went down the hatch. *nomnomnom. Check out the plate Christmas decor! \m/

Double decker chocolate ala mode…just another one of the desserts for sharing with my fellow bloggers (Sir Vince, Sir Clayre, Ms. Sam, and Ms. Kat. (“,) Shout out to you, guys! *hihi) (Photo bomb by Forest House bagnet – upper righthand corner)
As we savored our sumptuous dinner (sorry, I don’t have photos of the other dishes, fellow foodies – ‘naunahan ako ng hiya’/embarrassment got the best of me *heeharhar) and became more enamored with the Christmas setting and music, one of the topics of (engrossing – lightbulbs kept popping over my head ^^, ) conversation was about IdeaSpace. This is a national competition (the first ever, guys!) where would-be entrepreneurs with “fresh and innovative ideas” can “turn these big ideas into reality!”
Want to be a start-up CEO with a startup capital of P500,000, access to mentors, legal advice and a workspace provided for you, then check this out to find out more: https://www.facebook.com/ideaspaceph

X Marks the Spot for Good Baguio Foods is a personal blog. Everything posted in this blog is PERSONAL OPINION DERIVED FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and since TASTE can be pretty SUBJECTIVE, should NOT be taken as THE NORM or the LAW OF DINING around in the City of Pines.
Its (prosaic =b) contents are meant to help with the question “san tayo?”/where do we go? in relation to eating out in Baguio, to ENCOURAGE EXPLORING (eatsploring) and TRYING NEW THINGS offered in the City of Pines.
By all means, eat where you want to eat and eat what you want to eat. May you have a great experience with all the places you visit and may all the restaurants you go to deserve a ton of treasure chests! (“,)
(Also, if you have any second thoughts about a certain place you arrive at, please DON'T LET THIS BLOG BE THE REASON YOU ARE FORCED into ending up anywhere. If the restaurant doesn’t have what you want, please FEEL FREE TO WALK AWAY.)
