UPDATE: Ozark – Bed & Breakfast and Private Table
At laaast! ♫ ♪ [With that phrase written, in my mind, (and I hope in your mind too) “I” have got a set of pipes like Etta James. #Ilusyonada parin =)) ]
The Ozark bed and breakfast is open! \m/ We heard that was the plan from the moment the diner opened and we watched things come together before our eyes every time we have a meal at this Southern cuisine diner.
First, it was the roof deck with its free standing fireplace. *dreamy looks Then the driveway/parking in between the Ozark buildings. (If you look closely, you can make out ‘Ozark’ in the bricks laid there.) Then there were the rooms.
For our first mini change of scenery vacay of 2017, we’ve got Sir Albert and Chef Kevin to thank. (I really appreciate this belated birthday gift po.)
The Bed and Room Segment of the B&B
We started our staycation when the City of Pines was having its signature three-season day (Tag-ulan, taglamig, tag-init). =b Wow, that was cats and dogs rain for January. (No worries, since I came prepared to bless the reverse folding umbrellie I got from the PEZA holiday bazaar.)
Walking through the threshold of room #5, I saw the welcome goodies in the form of Ozark Diner’s scrumptious cookies and a couple of oranges laid out on the kitchen counter first. Nyum!
The Ozark room is a spacious room equipped with a smart TV (so do bring your USBs or external hard drives full of stuff you want to watch; you are in control). A coffee maker and a toaster is provided for, for those staying longer than a week. What I loved best about the room? Lots and lots of closet space. There were shelves everywhere! (I come from a long line of pack rats, you see. *tee hee) (BTW, they also have a pet friendly room.)
Having put our things away, we munched on some of the cookies (perfect, just perfect oatmeal raisin cookies. You know it, F-A-V-E!) and began our B&B arrest (with Netflix’s Series of Unfortunate Events series. *heehaha I keep imagining ‘Lemony Snicket’ as Kronk in Emperor’s New Groove. Yes, same actor).
In the evening, it was time to get some dinner. Where else do we go but next door? =D
Perfect timing because I’ve been missing their St. Augustine shrimp pilau (which I first got a taste of guesting on Pop Talk‘s Baguio Panagbenga episode). Race got their TLT sandwich resting on Ozark’s signature – a fries overload. That’s tocino, lettuce, tomato. *burp!
While the pitter-patter of rain lulled us to sleep (under a nice, light but fuzzy, warming blanket) in the evening, we woke up to a day that was just a bit cloudy/foggy that got clearer and clearer as the sun rose. ^^,
The Breakfast Segment
It’s back to the diner for breakfast. We coaxed our tummies to awaken with carafe of coffee for Race, standard OJ for me, and twisty long John bread.
For breakfast mains, we had adobo rice further packed with protein (Three eggs, man!) and another standard: Eggs and bacon breakfast but with an Ozark Diner quality to it in their authentic Southern biscuits. I slathered marmalade and honey thick on these babies. Suu-weeet!
Being at the diner well before it opened, we got to immerse ourselves in Ozark mornings, quiet mornings. So amusing being there when it hasn’t started operations for the day. I’m so glad for it. And as always, conversations with Chef Kevin, Sir Albert, and Sir Daniel, scintillating. *hihi
Do get in touch with Sir Albert Sotelo for the Ozark B&B experience.

*Private Table
Just in case you haven’t heard (from the blog’s Facebook page), Ozark Diner’s private table has also been launched before the end of 2016. (You can still set up your very own private table to celebrate milestones or just because. Simply get in touch with Chef Kevin and Sir Albert to go over the details.)
In this higher level of eatsploration, Ozark will be calling in guest chefs from all over the Philippines and (perhaps) the world from time to time, to showcase their unique food stylings and kitchen personality.

Race and Sir Omeng of Eats OA, warming up by the free standing fireplace. So nice, right?
A rad experience, it would be, I imagine, to make a B&B booking when they also have a private table planned so you can reserve your slot for that, too.
Feast on the fabulous creations of the guest chef, have a fine time under the stars and in the quiet nights that are natural to Bakakeng, broken only by the voices and laughter of your loved ones, and then back to your room below for sweet repose. *more dreamy looks (Let the photos of our foodievent, entice you. Here.)
***Thank you again, Chef Kevin and Sir Albert and Sir Daniel for having me and my foodie blogging friends at the launch of Ozark Diner’s Private Table offering!
***It was a wonderful to meet you, Chef La. The dishes you served us that some enchanted evening, made our meeting even more memorable! More power!

Ozark’s B&B looks like a nice place to stay for Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival. I just might look into making a reservation here for February.
Hello, MF! Oh, it is a nice place … really so amazed with how huge the room is. It’s away from the hustle and bustle too so perfect for quiet time
I think you’re going to have to start out extra early if you book here for the Panagbenga parade days though. I hope transpo won’t be an issue for you.
Thank you for visiting the blog! I hope you enjoy your stay at Ozark B&B! (“,)
I will jsut be in it for the quiet time part and to be away from all the people coming up here for Panagbenga. I can’t stand crowds
Ahaha. I know the feeling. Yes, Ozark would do perfectly for a quick getaway, methinks. (“,)
What are the rates here in Ozark Bed and Breakfast, Xine? Thank you.
