Quoted Cafe, V Hotel Apartel: Quotes to Live By, Food to Live On
From last blogpost, I blinked and now, it’s a week into May. I hope all is well with you, fellow foodies. Chompers busy, tummies full?
V Hotel, the Quoted dining area and little details in that dining area. (Check out the hand painted stones. We were told that Ms. Angie worked on these herself. A true “rock artist”. *heehaha Such an amusing anecdote from daughter, Ms. Jessica.)
No? I have just what you need right here – a feature on a newly opened resto in our fair food trip city. =) Presenting, one more find by Sir Dan (many thanks for the heads up, Sir): Quoted Cafe, inhouse food joint at V Hotel, the newest sister hotel of Hotel Veniz.

Open as early as 6:30 (to provide breakfast for the hotel guests and possible early bird afoodionados), we planned to make a visit here before elevenses. From their handy menu, we chose drinks first. It’s because they came in a most interesting container: A bucket. Yes, you read that right.
Every sip we took was of a well blended, perfectly flavored, and refreshing beverage. Just what one would want for the tag init part of Baguio’s three-season day, I’d say. =b
Honestly speaking, I prefer this libation in a bucket over the monster or freak shakes fad that’s going around these days, Not messy, nothing wasted, easy to drink. I really don’t like the idea of choco ripple or any ripple for that matter overflowing to the sides of a small mason jar. I can’t lick that clean. Well, I can … but I won’t in public. *hee Our frozen hot choco came in such a good sized bucket that we had about a glass left to take home after this meal. \m/

For appetizer, we picked the most intriguing one, the Sriracha bacon with Nutella dip . These strips of pork were chewy sticky, sweet with tinge of spice on their own … funky flavors put together, flavors you don’t think would work but they do. =D If it was any spicier, it would’ve provided the perfect contrast against the hazelnut dip.

I tell you, I could live on appetizers and starters alone, like my other order, spinach soup. It was a big enough serving to fill my tummy up and with one spoonful, I went, ♪ ♫ paaaa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pum ♪, Popeye energized!

We anticipated what beef marinara would be like and when it was delivered to the table, we were quite satisfied with what we saw. Mixed in a creamy tomato sauce were thinly sliced pieces of beef which we greatly appreciated for no part of the meat was left untouched by the zingy sauce. It’s funny because the hint of tartness (most likely from the cherry tomatoes), this main, also worked as an appetizer. So we took sips of our potent choco drink which also doubled as dessert. ^^,

Just when I was about to say to Race that I give up, along came cafe manager, Sir Mark with two slices from their desserts display for us to taste on the house. (Thank you so much, Sir; that was surely a pleasant surprise.) Did we love both or did we love both? Red velvet cakebread with a nice cream cheese icing in between layers and rich mocha mousse that reminded us of rum balls, nyum!
