UPDATE: Te Quiero Tapas Bar and Restaurant
Another lunch date at Te Quiero Tapas Bar and Restaurant for me and Race. \m/

Another lunch date at Te Quiero. They’ve still got their interesting looking glasses, the ones that had a cracked design near the bottom. From an empty table to a table full of good Baguio eats. =)
A week before our return visit, Te Quiero borrowed some of the shots I took of their food and posted it on their Facebook page. Looking at the other photos they’ve got there made me realize that I had some unfinished business with their restaurant. I was reminded about the dishes that I said I would try but didn’t get to (busy with the Baguio food quest *hihi). Also, I had to get a photo of their menu in my photo archives for this blog. So it was planned that we would dine there again. =D We just had to, now that I became aware that I also missed their orange mango smoothie.
After placing our lunch orders, I munched on my dinner roll while looking at the different items on the menu with their respective mouth watering descriptions.

Starting off a lunch meal with dinner rolls, one for me, one for Race. Ahey, they look like one of the bread offerings that Mr. Hapi has, blog on that notable edible coming soon! We had a little butter to go with these rolls, which proved to be a spreading feat since the butter was frozen solid and the rolls weren’t hot. Oh well. =b
Next item on the docket, get a bowl of sopa de tomate.

Sopa de tomate, check! A really good bowl of soup. Tangy, creamy and oh so comforting. I could just have this for my meal and I would be right as rain. It was so tasty I thought about getting another bowl.
Next order of business at the tapas bar and restaurant, a happy reunion with orange mango smoothie.

Of shakes and smoothies at the Microtel tapas bar. My orange mango smoothie looked a bit faded in comparison to the first glass I had last year. I liked the garnish in that first glass too, the cheek of mango topped with a cherry over the rim of the glass like those little umbrellas for cocktails. It was, however, still the truly fruity and smooth refreshment I remember. (“,) The shake was Race’s choice, a mix of chocolate and banana.
Since perusing the TeQuiero menu, I couldn’t stop myself from getting another dish that sounded like a really delicious ‘hot snack’.

Tapas calientes, patatas bravas. Described on the menu as crispy potatoes with spices, I anticipated a plate of fries made colorful by cayenne pepper, saffron, and all those vibrant powdery things so you could imagine my surprise when it looked just like sopa de tomate with chunks of potatoes in it. Nevertheless, I thanked my lucky stars. I did want another bowl of tomato soup and I got it with my favorite tuber to boot. ^^,
Between Race and me, it seems that I’m always the one having strong hankerings for specific foods. So strong are these cravings that they often dictate where we eat in Baguio. Race didn’t really know what to get so he settled for their club sandwich de Microtel.

Club sandwich de Microtel proved to be a good choice. Look at all that stuffing! Bacon, cheese, lettuce, chicken, cucumbers, scrambled egg, tomatoes, wow. And yes, more potatoes, the real crispy thin ones now. *nomnomnom
For my main course, I chose lasana (that’s how they spelled it in this Spanish restaurant’s menu … with an enye. *hee)

Lasana with an enye. =)) Layers of pasta with meat and bechamel sauce the menu says. It didn’t say how densely packed this lasagna would be. Also, it was a little bit dry which made me want for more tomato soup, if only to have something that I could drizzle on my pasta. I just took a few bites out of it and got the rest wrapped for take away. Reheating it in the toaster wrapped in aluminum foil did the trick. No need for Epic’s Mub and Grub, moist is what they do. *snickers
At the end of our lunch meal, I didn’t have any unfinished business left with Te Quiero. Nevertheless, I’ll/we’ll keep coming back because they’ve got so many palate tingling and tummy filling foodstuff to offer.
I didn’t really rate the a la carte food in my first Te Quiero post so, here it goes:
