After Hope, Out Came Good Food from Pandora’s Box Cafe
Okay, it’s been more than a week since Halloween, so …
what’s going on here?
That, my friend, is a section of the archery range beside the tavern. (Archery range? Tavern? Whaat? *question marks in eyes Yes. Let us continue.) Much like Game and Grub, Pandora’s Box Cafe offers grub and game; a more physical challenge of a game, that is.
Ahh, brownouts. In looking for a distraction from the long hours offline, there’s always something exciting to find/discover in our wee fair city. Let’s talk about the sustenance first because … I’m famished.
Offering a list of eats doable for a horde, we surely picked the first item on the menu, grilled cheese, half size to cover X+1, my siblings and my niece. When it was brought to our table, we saw that its seams were oozing with melted mozzarella and cheddar. Like the one in Jon Favreau’s movie, Chef, it had uber buttered up pieces of bread that my fingers got all greasy from the slice. Such a great sandwich, I didn’t care, nobody cares (about my oil smeared digits =b).
Getting my oily paws on some fries that came with the sandwich, I almost shouted “More taters, wench!” So perfect was the texture and the taste of these sides, we got a special order for a (glass) bucket of it that came with ketchup and ranch dressing dips. *nomnomnom
If I thought the potato wedges were wow, the other finger food, the chicken fried bacon was mind blowing. What sorcery went into making these, I wonder. The best way to describe it would be it’s bacon fried with a chicken skin crumble. It tasted a bit like KFC’s Double Down munchable but this is better executed, definitely more enjoyable and palatable. (Ugh, getting umay just thinking of the franchise‘s version. Switching back to happy thoughts now.) How great would this be with rice, we also mused … IF they would ever serve some in this medieval themed cosplay cafe. (Might just get some to go to eat with rice in the comfort of home. *hihi)
Our other sandwich would have entailed unhinging our jaw in its height, King Arthur’s BLTC with more fries. All the delicious stuffings in crumbly bread, we sort of deconstructed it all in the slice and share. Another winning dish!
For drinks, we got the awe inspiring Diabeetus in a Viking sized mug. They gave us spoons and goblet shaped shot glasses to enjoy this refreshing as well as true-to-its-name energizing-and-sugar-rushing beverage. (“,) (A luxurious mix of choco wafer sticks, cream, choco ripple, choco chips, white chocolate covered pretzels, ,marshmallows, rice crispies, Oreo cookies for toppings, it surprisingly had just the right sweetness. *sip ahh)
Oh, yeah, we also got a liter sized mason jar of iced tea because as I’ve stated last week, it is hell-a hot for November 2015 noontimes. That was an excellent rehydration tea drink after a stairmaster challenge up to the mall’s fifth floor. =)
In line with the sweet drinkable, we also had the Mentos-like, ‘crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside‘ waffle. Out of all the tastes we had this day, this one was pretty commonplace but it was still good. And note how immaculate that waffle looks. ^^,

Cheers! (Don’t be fooled by my brother’s disinterested expression there. That’s his I’ve-got-such-a-camwhore-for-a-sister face.)
Invigorated as we were from this indulgent meal, we were ready to try our hands at archery.
First, a good read of the rules and some training … because when “pointy end goes into the other man”, that’s bad. *hee (Minus 2 points when you hit a ‘human’ in the target range.)
Let the games begin!
Our OBJECTIVE: Just shoot whatever. =D
Meanwhile, my sister busied herself looking at the cos-play costumes for rent at the cafe. You heard that right; got a costume party to go to? Pandora’s has to be one of your shopping stops, for sure.
Back at the range: Whoa, that string was really taut! I cannot say I expected that. With a few arrows that bounced off stuff, my last was an under the watermelon-that-spouted-a-face-monster’s eye shot. Take that! \m/ Right in the scar, right in the scar!
X marks Pandora’s Box Tavern Cafe for good food (and good fun) in Baguio. (Who knew that yummy stuff would follow after hope? Baguio food adventurers, Clar and Rodz did.)
Ambiance: and with music in the background like an epic game OST, it was even better. (Although I didn’t hear it on their playlist yesterday, I’m thinking of ‘Great Ambitions‘ now. I’ve been Honest Trailers binging lately. Heehaha the stare/solar flare soundtrack.

Fun blog post! Thank you Xine.
Thank YOU, Candy for dropping by this food blog again! I guess it’s a fun post because it was a fun dining experience. Do try Pandora’s Box Cafe with friends and loved ones when you’re out eatsploring. *hihi Thanks again, I really appreciate it! (“,)
We definitely will. I’m showing my friends the post as we speak. 🙂
Wee! I hope you have as much fun as we did … or even more so when you do dine there! (“,)
We went to pandora’s cafe right after i read your reviews but so dissappointing most of the food were not on the menu and some were not available, even the diabetus were sold out. We ended up ordering the grilled cheese, pixie pizza and fried bacon. Ms xine may i ask if you are about to rate an establishment, do you gve notice in advance? Or do you just go there anonymously? I think its best if the staffs are clueless coz then you really experience their true, sincere service and servings, they will not try to impress you and your friends, and the ratings would not be biased. Have a good day and God bless
Hello, Crystalshower! Unlike some other self entitled “bloggers”, I make it a point NEVER TO MENTION, NEVER TO MAKE A BIG DEAL about the fact that I write a blog. I go anonymously, pay my own way and normally, I just publish after a series of visits.
I’m saddened to hear that you had a bad experience with them but even my other family members go without me, without even saying that they are related to me and they still have been consistent in their good service. It’s unfortunate but maybe they were having an off day when you went.
Also, if you have any second thoughts about a certain place you arrive at, please don’t let my blog be the reason you are forced into ending up anywhere. If the restaurant doesn’t have what you want, please feel free walk away.
Here’s to more pleasant food quests in the future. (“,)
