Notable Edibles #15 – Judge Fudge
What are we lookin’ at?
Sort of looks like chocolate pieces … and based on the dimensions, the first thought one might have is it’s Beryl’s chocolates.
But that’s a bad comparison. I shall explain myself later. =b
So again, what are we looking at? We’re looking at:
Judge Fudge
What’s a fudge? Fudge, by Google search definition, is a soft candy made from sugar, butter, and milk or cream.
Uncovering the trays that Baguio’s fudge snack provider sent me, we can clearly see that they offer a number of flavor twists besides the basic. Wee! Even the usual one isn’t so usual with its tag team taste, rum.
Let’s have a taste, shall we?
Home with our sweet loot, into my mouth went the three best sellers, one after the other. I realized then, this couldn’t be (so-hard-to-melt) Beryl’s. Meant to be chewed, I started with that action and the distinctive tastes of each type of fudge started filling my chompers. ^^,
The choco mint, matcha, and Oreo butterscotch were all well made fudge with nary a sugar crystal in any of the bites. The green tea was a hit with it having the right amount of matcha that neither was too faint nor too strong. Actually, the same goes for the other two flavors. Just the right fudge and peppermint crunch, and just the right Oreo and butter scotch. \m/
Back to basics, the rhum fudge seemed to me like dark chocolate. It was actually the bitterness of the rum coming through. I love dark choco so I’m already lovin’ these little bites of rhum fudge.
Switching textures up, I next munched on the fruit ‘n nut next. How that reminded me of Cadbury‘s fruit and nut bar … but with chewier chocolate around the crushed nuts and raisin slices. *hihi
For more texture switch ups, we have rocky road. Now, with this type of fudge, I also kept thinking about mudpies and the squishy, squishy mallows inside. =)
Pina collada made me realize that it’s just the drink that I took issue with. *hee This had me trying to put my finger on what other food it tasted like while I nibbled on the bits of coconut that still had a little juice left in them.
The last two kinds attempted to nudge us out of our comfort zones of taste. They can be savory in that the fudge is combined with salty bacon for the bacon fudge, and siling labuyo for chocolabuyo. I don’t have to tell you how spicy those squares can get with the seeds mixed in it. Good thing, these come in small sizes. Shyeew.
So far, of this whole batch of skillfully made fudge, the bacon seasoned one was the most notable to me. =D I popped one piece for breakfast and that totally woke me up with the sweet choco combined with the ‘kunat’ (I mean that in a good way … like jerky *hee) briny bits of bacon.
What the fudge! At the moment, I’m at a loss for which of the nine are my favorites. Lucky for us, the rectangular containers for P100 allows for six of our most preferred flavors. Want a #fudgever ending too? Order up! (You’re only a scroll away from Judge Fudge’s contact details.) (“,)

X with Twinkle and Ernan at the Judge Fudge meet up place. *smiling ear to ear with the stash I got.

Special orders for fudge and/or packaging also possible. For these, please place your order two weeks in advance.
***Big thanks, Twinkle and Ernan, for this rainy day sweet stash! It was such a pleasure to meet you. Yes, on a clearer day ( … and when everyone’s on free day *hihi), food adventure is a go!

Small pieces nga tong fudge ng Judge Fudge. Sa laki ko, ubos agad yan haha ha
Hello there, Mario! Yes, bite size these ones. But Judge Fudge can make customized orders (which I forgot to put in the post, let me put that in now). I myself am asking them about 2×2 dimensions for the fudge or something thicker. In their special orders albums, there are special cuts too, e.g. star shaped, I ❤ you etc.
Thank you so much for always dropping by, Mario! I really appreciate it! I hope you enjoy whichever orders you'll place for your Judge Fudge fudge. (",)
