Kape Umali Bids You Welcome to Flaner
“The word flaner in French is just to kind of wander. Here, it’s okay to just be a flaner…and to dream and to walk along and then stop in a café.” ~ Parisian lady, The Layover 2×2.
These days, it’s fashionable to flaner…yes, not just in Paris, but also in the Philippines, more specifically, in Baguio. (After all, the climate’s great for it \m/.) There might be a shorter time allotted for hanging around/people watching/staring into space while nursing your choice of drink (doesn’t have to be coffee =D) here, but in any case, if you find yourself in the vicinity of Naguilian/Cooyeesan Hotel Plaza and you’re bitten by the bug to flaner, a good place to do that would be Kape Umali.
The cafe beckons to you from Shangrila Village (ohh, seems so comforting, you want to go now, don’t you? =D). Pass the road before Coyeesan, go through the boom barrier where the guard is and follow the road down. You’re ready to flaner!

Mocha java (the one with the funky choco ripple design) and chocomint latte. Just chillin’ in Kape Umali. =)
If you want something more solid in your tummy (while you dream =b), Kape Umali has foodstuff to offer too: Sandwiches, sausages and beermatches like beef onions (pigar-pigar), bbq liempo, and chips and dip.

The Philly cheese beefsteak sandwich. I had to save the crusts so I could go scarpetta with the cheese that stuck to the plate. (“,) (Beats licking the plate, right? *heeharhar) Gooey cheese, yum!
And then at another opportunity to flaner…this time with batchmates, too…(“,)

Green milk tea… see those little things at the bottom of the glass…ah yes, popping boba. Kape Umali gave me my first taste. If most of their customers are caffeine addicts, I’m a popping boba addict. =b

Butterscotch macchiato: This was supposed to be my drink. Don’t know what it is about me and butterscotch. I traded it for Race’s drink as this had a powerful caffeine punch. Definitely, macchiato. Whoo! =)

The Kape Umali…mascots. =D Something to look at (besides the people and the scene) while you’re trying to make good with your flaner time. *hihi

Batchmates/Friends/Sisters UNITE! Flaner-ing for a cause. (“,) Shout out to Geraldine, Judith, Mica and Sheila *hihi
X marks Kape Umali for good food (ehem, good coffee…oh yes, the Philadelphia cheese steak sandwich, too) in Baguio. Want to flaner (even if it’s just for a little while)? Kape Umali bids you welcome! Umali kayo!
