Intermission: Binge Watching Food Movies

That’s films with food, about food, cooking food, people gathering in the kitchen talking while preparing food, serving dishes upon dishes of food on the table, eating food …

Takes a lot of time that activity … the watching, I mean. =)

Xine favorite food cooking movies (2)

I could always read a synopsis detailed enough on Wikipedia but then that would defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it?  The purpose being: (just in case, you missed it *hee) To see delectable stuff that then tempts me. (Cue Claire Danes as Yvaine in Stardust – another  movie fave, nonfoodie; saying, “Aren’t you tempted?”)

And my gosh, was I! (“,) Most especially with flicks like Today’s Special, the inspiration to my Today’s Special post. I couldn’t take that theme song out of my head for so long.  With Jiro Dreams of Sushi, tout suite, we went to Zushi Me for rolls galore. (That’s no sushi but let’s make do.)

Xine favorite food cooking movies

Alternating with a Christmas show marathon mood (that can strike even when it’s not Christmas *harhar), this food movie mood struck again two weeks ago with me seeing another list of movies that foodies should watch. (Sir Daniel of Ozark Diner is the culprit =)) )

It started with The Lunchbox, while a wonderful flick, (I had Lunchbox on repeat while looking for other foodsy flicks that someone thought I was Indian. ^^,), I saw didn’t have that many food shots, so I supplemented it with Romantics Anonymous. Then a wave of choco cravings washed me over and thank the heavens, I got enough stashed nearby. Now, I’m still French … with Le Chef (not the Billy King managed resto =b) playing on and on in my media player. \m/

Xines food movie list

My food movie list. The ones with purple highlight, faint memory of how it went so it’s on the docket for watching again. (“,)

The movies on the list above are those that I can remember I’ve watched.  I especially like the ones that are light and happy, mind you.  The other purpose of watching is to be entertained, not stressed further.

Black comedy, weird ones and those with a ton of hot stuff going on, I don’t have much of a taste for, either. Oh, and scratch movies about cannibalism and those that deter from the whole eating pleasure. (Although, the dishes prepared by Hannibal in the TV series do look good. *maniacal laugh)

I’m sure I’ve forgotten something on my food film list.  Care to leave the titles of your favorites on the comment section of this post? =D

And … a-watching I will go! (since they’re cued on the playlist now.) Bon Appetit (good appetite while you’re watching), food questers!
