Quarantine Surprises … into Season’s Eatings \m/
The past months I’ve been away from this page (Not intentionally =b), a handful other fantastic munchables found their way to my address, to me, to my gob, and then to my belly. *contented sighs
Pretty much, these are food items that could turn a regular day into a holiday (I would know, I did get a huge sense of satisfaction and happiness receiving these, so I’m so grateful to Blak ‘n’ Wyte, Gani and Ringo, LJ/Food and Grocery on Wheels, Luscious Tarts, and also Cha Tien for giving this foodie something to look forward to on a given day. It most surely breaks the monotony of our days on house arrest. Who knew, extended taumbahay moves can lead to forgetting what day it is. *heehaha I digress.)
These dishes/delectable treats can also make Season’s Eatings (What, already?!?) even more special. (The meme about 2020 being summed up as January, February, quarantine, December is so apt.)
So here we go, quarantine surprises that could be the perfect addition to your Christmas and New Year spreads.
1.) Blak ‘n’ Wyte
While the cafe is already open for dine in these days, complete with new normal protocols in place, they also do deliveries, just in case you’re still unsure or just you find being out and about cumbersome. Aside from the dishes that they can cook up, they also have grub from other places available at the Kay Lines Drop and Pick counterpart of the resto. =D
It was at picking up an order in February of this (what will be a) bizarre year for us all that I first got to try Blak n Wyte’s black pasta. I was tickled pink to see it was delivered together with scrumptious creamcheese puffs. You read that right, not just cream puffs, but cream cheeeeese puffs.
The puffs are fruity in that one box has three different flavors: Mango, strawberry (No, that’s not asado *hihi), and blueberry. Just the proper amount of fruit ripple in there to keep it from being cloying. I’m lovin’ that fine streusel topping on the pastry ball too.
Get your orders in:

2.) Gani and Ringo’s Crispy Pata atbp.
Need I say more?
Just looking at the photos, and watching the ASMR type vid below, I already want to place another order. Aren’t you tempted?
Crispy crunch meatsies, just a message away.

3.) LJ’s Pasalubong Center
Interesting to think that I’ve tasted more specialties from other provinces and regions in this time of COVID-19 when it’s quite the feat to move around, than I ever have in previous years when traveling was easy peasy. That’s thanks in large part to shops like LJ’s Pasalubong Center/Food and Grocery on Wheels who bring these edibles into the city for us.
LJ’s is the official exclusive distributor of Hannah Marielle’s products. But more than soft and spongy mini cake rolls, saccharine bites that are yemaroons … and yema cookies, the selection is extensive: Momilo Mio cheese pie (Might look like an uncut cheese bar but it’s not; it’s better), Vjandep pastel, Merzci napoleones, Conti’s mango bravo cake, Big Al’s decadent choco cake, etc. (“,)
Looking to stash some sweet delicacies?

4.) Luscious Tarts
I never really got to into the Portuguese egg tarts fad when it first came into being from shops like Lord Stow’s. Apparently, they’ve made a comeback. If there was one positive outcome from this pandemic, it’s that it brought out the spunk in people … For home bakers, this time, they went beyond baking for their loved ones and as a result, we have stuff like this, homemade pasteis de nata from Luscious Tarts, we can say is one of Baguio’s very own.
Top to bottom, from the shiny burnt glaze of the smooth custard to the delicate flaky micro crisp puff pastry crust, it’s perfection. =] Not feeling a sugared flavor for egg tarts, Luscious Tarts also has a savory version, with bacon .
Ready for lusciousness?

Mostly X+1 and Cha Tien’s proprietor catching up, but an event nonetheless. ❤ Thankies, Ms. Jonalyn!!! So happy to see you again.
If you haven’t heard yet, you milk tea lover you, Cha Tien, Baguio’s first homegrown milktea brand, has returned. They’ve a new location, with a wide dining area … perfect for hanging out downing glasses of their refreshing concoctions with easy physical distancing from other milk tea fans … or hosting an intimate par-tea.
Watch the video to see where #2 Tan Building, Corner 2, Camdas Subdivision is. ChaTien is on the second floor.
More power, Blak ‘n’ Wyte/Kay Lines, Gani and Ringo, LJ/Food and Grocery on Wheels, Luscious Tarts, and Cha Tien.
And this post is done. ^^,
Let’s please keep in mind that we’re still under general community quarantine, that while we’re trying to have a happy holidays, a merry Christmas and a happy new year, indulging in this year’s Season’s Eatings, may we be responsible humans, keep our guards up, and stay safe by following Covid prevention protocols. \m/

Ayiii ang drama ni Mario today. *hihi Hello there! Another way to look at it is, black is composed of all colors. I hope you can still find a way to make this year’s celebration feel as cheery and meaningful as other Christmases. (“,)
Tulo laway naman sa crispy ulo na slice mo ghurl! Kanina ko pa replay. Kamusta naman ang prices dyan sa Gani and Ringo.Konti lang datung ngayon. Ano ba naman kasi tong covid tse.
Apir, Mario! I really am giddy to place an order again because Gani and Ringo’s crispy meatsies are just so good! (Tried crispy pata a few weeks back but I still want more.) According to the menu on their FB page, crispy pata hock isP240, regular crispy pata is P330, premium version is P430, crispy ulo is P440, and crispy chicken is P230. I hope at least one fits your budget so you have something super fab for Season’s Eatings.
