UPDATE: Le Twist Cafe at Forest Lodge Hotel Breakfast Buffet
Hooray!
Forest Lodge has finally joined the Breakfast Buffet Bonanza! \m/
For starters: Fresh fruits. Karla said, she read somewhere that it’s good to start a meal with these, helps digestion or something to that effect. Nothing to lose so that’s just what Ate Beth and I did. Watch me top my glass off with a liquid version of the fruits, four seasons. *snickers
My better half couldn’t care less about this info bite and went straight for the heavy stuff. =))
First sweep of the dining area, we saw juice dispensers for orange and four seasons; fruits, cereals, yogurt, chaffing dishes of five different viands (longanisa, a common corned beef, daing, and notably delicious chicken teriyaki)and two kinds of rice (garlic fried rice and plain), soup, a few varieties of bread and an egg station.

Macaroni soup, the cold cuts table before the cold cuts were displayed, the meaty viands (longganisa, corned beef, daing, and chicken teriyaki). ^^,
Aside from the breakfast buffet offering, looking over to our fellow early comers’ tables, I saw that this in house restaurant’s la carte has more pages to it now. Wee! Note to self: Must come back for dinner and lunch to see what’s been added to the Le Twist Cafe line up.
Since P3+1 arrived just a little after 6:00 a.m., there were some blank spaces in the buffet table(s).
Later, cold cuts and more selections of bread were added. =) (That made a total of about 8 kinds: Cupcakes, muffins, donuts, croissants, rolls, slices of bread on which you can spread strawberry jam, mango jam and/or orange marmalade.)
For tummy warming drinks, there’s coffee as well as hot choco at Forest Lodge. (While nothing still compares to the cups of heaven I tried in Bohol’s Peacock Garden =D), The lodge’s version was good and creamy-licious enough to warrant a second cup.
When breakfast was in full swing, a pudding/bibingka-like dish was added to the carbs table. With the consistency of moist pound cake topped with crispy crusty cheese and a wedge of salted egg, we came back for more. We ended the meal with more fruits – a helping of fruit salad. =b
Service: Highly improved from X+1 lunch visit (in 2013). The wait staff is more attentive now; refilling our water glasses, taking away our emptied out plates (considering I thought our table was pretty small, the extra space was most appreciated), and offering us more drinks (coffee or hot choco) when we were done gorging ourselves.
Ambiance: I’m taking their lobby/lounge as part of this. Just take a look at that! So many places, nicely decorated and comfy places to park our butts.
Price: To me, they seemed to have a short list of selections for P450 per pax. (Back of my mind however, if we stuff ourselves silly with these things, then we’re sure to make the most of it.) Loved that our attendants offered us more cups of hot choco though, because for some hotels, they make it sound like it’s a one time only thing.
Again, X marks Le Twist Cafe at Forest Lodge for good food in Baguio. [Another one for our good breakfast buffet places list … after Simbang Gabi (when it starts), perhaps?].
