Food Trip at Moe’s Outrageous Resto Deli
Like a pumpkin turning into a wondrous golden carriage for Cinderelly …
Moe’s used to be a little store sharing the space with a Mr. Hapi branch (from what I saw passing through from Jungletown Road to Bonifacio). As if with a snap of the fingers, the next time Race and I drove past, it’s become all spacious complete with mezzanine, and nice, what with all the wide windows (that I like so much) it had. (“,) (Running into Chef Vicky at the newly opened restaurant, she admired what they’ve done with the place, gesturing to the windows as well. I suspect, she had some images of her home full of huge glass panels in Ambuklao coming to mind. *hihi)
Having picked a table to begin our food trip, I looked at the resto deli’s menu and breathed a sigh of utter relief. I thanked the heavens in silence for the doable prices of Moe’s Outrageous dishes.

After every few seconds, lights are all up and then down again. Who could work under these conditions? The way they treat me/us, it’s like we’re not paying customers. Grrr!
[I was sort of running dry since Globe Tattoo started shifting our Wimax connection to LTE, you see. Almost two weeks of intermittent internet connection combined with the stress of “talking” to some spiel-tossing unsympathetic mindless drone on their Facebook pages … (Want to have a look at one of our convos on their FB page? Click here. Brace yourself for the long scroll down. Geez.) Argghh, the mental anguish of it all!]
I digress. (Someone’s still irate.*heeharhar … because after LTE migration, service still sucks. “Fibre-fast internet connection”, my foot.)
Even though we were at the resto a few minutes before noon (hours after they’ve opened), we were told that some of their offerings like the smoked meat were not available so Race changed his order to a burger. It proved to be a good move since Moe’s burger was scrumptious, mighty tasty with a surprise slice of smoked meat stuffed between the juicy meaty patty. =) The fries that came with it were nicely done too.
I went for something I/we could make on our own at home, fusilli with tomato pasta. As lazy to cook (inept at cooking, more like it =)) ) as I was … which is the whole point of eating out *snickers, this was a welcome dish. Italians would be proud of its simplicity, an olive oil sauce with cherry tomatoes that provided a minute jolt with their tartness.
Asking another attendant about when the meat smoking would be done so we could get something to go, we were informed that smoked beef was actually available. Since my solo pasta looked like no heavy weight at all, we ordered that additional main course. 100 grams, sliced thinly, drizzled with sauce and served with veggies and rice (or mashed potatoes, but they didn’t ask us what we wanted), this plate completed my lunch even though the flavors on the meat were faint. We resolved to try the smoked pork next time as we had a feeling it’s going to take on more of that smokiness and will have more flavor. ^^,
Ahhh, that black forest drink. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a fantastic refreshment. Many blended things I’ve had recently are either all the fakey fruit flavors that are too sweet, all cream, or a cream and ice shard mix. This was a quality beverage of dark chocolate and that unmistakable cherry taste. =D While the sip I took from Race’s drink was overshadowed by the continuous gulps I had of mine, he did seem to enjoy his choice too, so that’s a nod for another of Moe’s concoctions.
Unable to shake the curiosity about Moe’s other smoked meat, X+1 returned for another food trip at this new Baguio eating place yesterday. We killed our curiosity about the orange rootbos tea at the same time. With a few tiny spoonfuls of sugar in my cup, this was a hot drink that I savored. It looked like wine against the whiteness of the cup and it did have the sweet aroma of oranges in it. I’d drink that again.
Come to think of it, they do drinks well at this restopub. The service water is the most lemon infused I’ve had in this Baguio food quest; a little more, it’ll be lemonade. *tee hee
My light brunch, the chicken sandwich, was lighter than I expected. I had a picture in my head of a sub, something jawbreaker tall. =b No biggie; I was glad for the extra tummy space because our next stop was to be CbY for dessert.

Chicken sandwich. (Pardon the darky-dark photo, they only thought of turning the lights on, on our side of the dining area when we were halfway through our brunch. *hee)
We were right about the smoked pork. \m/ Looking like strips of bacon on the plate, it did have more oomph taste-wise. *nomnomnom
X marks Moe’s Outrageous Resto and Deli for good food in Baguio. Moe’s place food tripping, most outrageous!
Ambiance: on a temperate day. [I’m thinking it could get hot fast when the sun’s blazing outside … and also when there’s a huge crowd (smoking, no less) in the dining area. Wearing my ’tissue-thin’ jacket on our second visit, I still had a mind to slip out of it.]

Nice post! keep it up…
Hello, Soc Tumala! I appreciate the appreciation for this post on Moe’s Outrageous Resto Deli; glad you like it. Happy Baguio food trips to you! (“,)
Wala silang dessert?
Hello there! Yes, nada dessert on the Moe’s menu at this time. Although their shakes might do as a liquid dessert. *hihi Really, that black forest one I had was wonderful. Have a great Baguio food adventure! (“,)
Nice place, bad service and cold food. Ordered salmon, cordon blue, pork belly, tapa and burger for 10 people. Everything was served cold!! Only two waitresses were around and one was very grumpy, probably tired already. It was only 7:30 pm when we arrived.
Maybe it was a mistake for going there on January 1. But if you’re open for business, then you’re open for business. Will I go back??? To be honest our choices before deciding to pick this place were trusted establishments. Not sure if I want to take another chance after this experience…too bad, the place was really nice..
Hello there, Unhappy Customer at Moe’s. So sad to hear that you had a bad experience at the resto deli. Thank you for leaving feedback … so Moe’s, seeing this, could work out these kinks since their establishment opening last month.
I hope you would not let this experience deter you from trying other things out. After a New Year’s dining snafu, I’m wishing you more happy, memorable and stellar dining experiences. A blessed 2016 to you and your family! (“,)
P.S. Agreed, they do have nice restaurant digs. *hihi
Tried the grilled salmon. It was goooood! Also T-bone steak and the gravy. Thank you again, Xine, for your writeups on new Baguio restaurants. Because of http://www.findgoodbaguiofoods.com, I know where to eat in Baguio.
New year, new resto checked off the Baguio restaurant list, I see. Yey! So nice to hear you liked the salmon and the t-bone steak at Moe’s Outrageous restodeli. I might try that myself on our next visit. (“,)
Thank you so much for the continuing support! Here’s hoping that I can keep this guide on where to eat in Baguio up. =b Again, happy food trips wherever you are!
No time management. Price is not appropriate for service quality
Hello there, anne! So sad to hear you didn’t have a good experience at Moe’s. Here’s to better dining experiences wherever you find yourself to be in the future! (“,)
