Two Guys, A Girl, and A Resto Called ‘Sensational Blendz’
Ladies first.
(Because even with what we’ve been experiencing from some individuals lately, I refuse to believe chivalry/good manners are dead. =b)
A Girl
… more rightly, The Girl.
Finding new places to eat in the City of Pines, I’ve already mentioned that I get by with a little help from my friends. (Thanks, you guys!) Checking my inbox one day, I got a message from Ms. Ruth telling me about her favorite eating place located a short distance away from her office. Sensational Blendz, she said. That got me thinking about milk tea places. *hihi
Images of those transparent cups filled with mocha colored liquid and lined with pearls in the bottom disappeared as I scrolled further down to the photos she sent along with the email. So scrumptious, I suddenly had a strong hankering for my own bowl of fruit mix.
The Two Guys in The Restaurant
Getting to the Dali Building restaurant, my one track mind on the bowl of beautiful colorful fruit slices drizzled with sauce was derailed by other foodstuff on the menu like the pita roll and Race’s choice for a budget-ish main dish, Brenan’s beef stew. This reminded us so much of bakareta but with a gourmet twist. (Is that a hint of wine in the sauce we can taste?) I was so happy that I got a pair for a single order of the rolls; now, that’s value. We hit a glass of (light-ish) guyabano shake and a cup of (light) hot choco for libations. =)

Guyabano shake and Race and his massive cup of hot choco. A bit watered down, those two, but that’s all right.
Finally, we come to dessert: Mix fruit caramel crepe ala mode. Oh-la-la, for P95, that was a lot of slices and cubes of banana, apple, papaya, strawberry, and mango. All wrapped in a delicate hotcake, drizzled with warm, delectable fruit sauce, it all came together in a spoonful as some of the vanilla ice cream melded with the tangy sauce.
So amused with what we tasted, we got more dishes for take out. =D Still on a quesadilla high from Ozark, we thought we’d try the Sensational Blendz versions – beefy mushroom and cheese, pesto tomato and cheese, and all cheese. I imagined how fun it would be to snack on some more tenders and got more of that as well. Curiosity piqued, we also took an order good for four of the glutein steak. Did we get the two guys manning the resto in a flurry? Oh, yes, we did.
Sure enough, the chicken fingers made for a great snack. (In hindsight, we should’ve picked fish tenders instead, so we could’ve tried the full range of tenders from this Monday to Saturday (UPDATE 08/03/2015: M-F 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; S 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) establishment. There were enough chicken strips rolled in the pita I had for lunch. *hee)
The quesadillas almost as delicate as the crepe, were gone in a flash … with some help from our furry companions. (Hypnotized to “givvve the doggg sommme foood” with their long, intense stares. =)) )

Quesadilla entries from Sensational Blendz … with two fuzzy stalkers staring at the plate from the ground, tails a-waggin’. *heehaha
Stuffed from all these, I just got a little taste of the glutein steak: Veggie meat with broccoli just like a beef and broccoli viand but with an aftertaste from the ‘steak’ pieces that reminded us that this is a dish feigning to be the real thing. ^^,
Looking back at the pictures on the email, I don’t think we got the right dessert bowl. We returned another day and shared another bowl of mixed fruit with cream cheese and honey as topping together with more fruit sauce. (Still not the ‘fruit blends’ Ms. Ruth had on her photo *tee hee but we can always come back for that.) That was a fantastically enjoyable sweet treat, too (Wow, when the cheese melted in the warmth) … minus the fine but filling crepe wrap.
I didn’t have the strength to leave without the Sensational Blends pita roll I’ve come to love. We got a batch so my foodie lovies can taste the chicken fillets wrapped snugly in unleavened bread with lettuce (or julienned cabbage), cucumber, tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts and strips of ripe mango that we sauce up with aioli.
X marks Sensational Blendz for good food in Baguio. They truly are sensational. (“,)
Ambiance: They’ve got a bit of a tight space. For our two visits, I couldn’t stop casting irritated glances at the rectangular table up against the mirrored wall across from us. It’s just there, stacked with books and stuff on one side, taking up valuable space from claustrophobic diners like me. =))) UPDATE 08/03/2015: Aha, the table is moved away from the wall now and can be used by a large group of people. Yey! I now have issues with the nonfunctional bulky counter by the door … another dining space thief. I just realized that this space used to be a parlor as evidenced by the layout.

A few pairs of pita rolls. (This time with fine strips of cabbage since lettuce was MIA. *hee Didn’t change the taste much, it was still sensational.)(“,)

Dali Building getting refurbished (in an uber sunny day. Been so long without super sun … I hope it pushes through today as I can see some blue patches in the sky now. Please, Mr. Sun, come out and melt all the clouds away.)
*Title, just in case it didn’t dawn on you, based on the TV sitcom, “Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place”. This eating place fits under so many categories, so we’ll file it under all that.
**Thank you again, Ms. Ruthanna for this restaurant recommendation!

Hi, Xine. There’s no lettuce in the pita rolls you took out. 🙂
*hihi Oh, forgot to say that they used julienned cabbage for our take home rolls. Out of stock lettuce. *hee
Thanks, Nickie! (“,)
Hi Xine,
we always recommend your reviews to our Baguio Transient guests & I know they appreciate them! If it would be possible to incorporate a Google or Waze map location, I know they would really appreciate that too. Best wishes, Peter
Hello there, Peter! Apologies for the delayed reply. Thank you so much for the suggestion. Will try to put the Google map link in with a pin on the location of a particular resto in future posts. More power to Baguio Transient, too! (“,)
