Coffee Shop Hop with Koffeeline, Travel Sips, & Patch
Recently, cafes have been acting like mushrooms, popping up every which location, in and around Baguio City. Even if we’ve already covered two coffee houses and a school themed resto cafe in the past few weeks, I’m afraid we’ve still got a handful to take care of. So for this coffeeshop ‘here, there everywhere post‘, we’re going to see if:
- Koffeeline Cafe
- Travel Sips Coffee Shop
- Patch Cafe
… will be marked for good food in Baguio.
Koffeeline Cafe at Megatower Residences
This was the first on the docket with my attempt to go coffee shop hopping; and with my brother in tow, we had ourselves some ham and cheese sandwich rolls and fresh cafe salad. Iced macadamia latte and mint soda were our choice drinks to wash these edibles off with.
When the ham and cheese was delivered to our table, I was pretty surprised because I didn’t read the menu well. (It said sandwich ROLLS. =b) I was about to say they gave us the wrong dish, but with us having the place to ourselves, there wouldn’t be anyone else to get our orders mixed up with. It tasted like pizza these loaves flattened and rolled with ham, cheese, cubed bell peppers and onions covered with bread crumbs. We didn’t need the honey mustard dip it was served with.
Let me rephrase that: We didn’t need the honey mustard dip for the rolls, but we did need it for the salad. It was a little hard to eat with its huge pieces of apple and huge tears of iceberg lettuce. To top it off, the dressing was too thick to evenly toss with the veggies. I wanted to take these vegetables home to eat it with the uber delish roasted sesame dressing from Kewpie, I got from SM grocery, but we kept munching on anyway. ^^,
Food: and
for the sandwich rolls (a more polished version of what my cousin, my brother and I used to do with Cheese Whiz sandwiches when we went a-visiting family in Manila. *sigh, reminiscing mode. Big hugs, Sasy!) and
for the salad.
Drinks: for my mint Italian soda and
for my brother’s latte. “Whoa, caffeine kick!”, he said.

Travel Sips Coffee Shop
Coming from Gossip on another coffeeshop hopping day, Race and I headed off to Travel Sips. (I thought I still had space even after the smoked pasta. *hee) In contrast to what he had at the other place, he ordered up a cup of hot coffee. I, on the other hand, tasted more fruity drink flavors with my glass of cherry berries. (It was so fun to say. *giggles)
It turns out, we just had enough room for a slice of cake. Thinking about how long it’s been since we’ve had tiramisu at Don Hen (our favorite … so far), we picked tiramisu. This slice tasted fine, but we thinks it would have killed it if it was chilled some more.

Travel sipping at the cafe. (Note how close my seat is to the door. It’s an arm’s length to the edge of the counter, too. Coffee shop for hobbits? =)) )
Ambiance: Travelsips is kinda small that I think I felt a bit claustrophobic sitting there; and the roomiest/widest place to sit when we were there was occupied by a staff member/owner(?) on her laptop. Here’s hoping it wouldn’t be so ‘crowded’ on our next visit.

Patch Cafe at Bloomfield Hotel
This is for you, Ms. Anonymous commenter … so you can make a decision on whether ♪ ♫ ‘should I stay or should I go’ ♫ *hihi. Thank you so much for giving me a heads up about the (re)opening of Cafe Sorelle as Patch Cafe. (“,)
It made me happy to see the big improvements in this joint. \m/
1.) New offering of scrumptious eats in Baguio.
As simple as it sounded, this was a satisfying walnut and green apple salad. Beautifully green, too. I love the extra attention given to the plate with the julienne cut apple. The dressing was so delightful, I had a mind to ask them for a bottle of it. =) The candied walnuts, though scant, was a tiny sweet reward to a mildly sour/mildly salty forkful … where a stray piece found itself to be.
Patch is where the old and the new meet up too, apparently … in the familiar cup and triangular saucer (from 2012) with Race’s coffee (just a regular cup, nothing special about it still) and the masor jar for my iced tea. (First saw that at the closed down, Country Waffles *missing their skillets selection. But it really caught on from the time Backyard used it for their drinks AND their light fixtures.)
2.) A wider (and prettier) dining area since they opened the place up to the back. Lots of choices for seats too. Although on that note, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to take a dining set or two out (like the spot we sat at, it was right smack in the middle of a panel sliding room divider. Defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?) , it made the place look cramped.
3. Back to the tasty chow. =b
Bloomfield Hotel’s newly renovated in-house restaurant has a winner in their prosciutto skinny pizza … as it also completed my fullness (light salad for starters *teehee). What a whopper with just three toppings (roasted garlic slivers and mozzarella with the dry cured ham)! This, skinny and thin crust is not enough for me. =)) I’m coming back for more of these, Patch coffee shop!

Proscuitto skinny pizza. Don’t know if it’s skinny because it’s thin crust or because it’s oblong but I’d risk being skinny for this. (“,)

Yes, X marks Koffeeline Cafe, Travel Sips Coffee Shop and Patch Cafe for good food in Baguio.
Freebie:
Sneak peek at the Cafe Rheality menu.
Jo and X+1 were supposed to eat lunch there today but dang, it was packed with student patrons (located in the small space in De Leon Building where Tea Generation used to be) and dang, the foodstuff we wanted wasn’t available (and I’ve sooo got a hankering for their potato salad). #realitybites or is it Rheality bites. *heeharhar
In any case, there are many days; you can bet these eatsplorers are going to try checking this cafe off the list again. =D
