Tea Generation: For the New Breed of Drinkers
Milk tea drinkers, I mean … the droves of people who love to sip refreshing tea (with milk) based beverages with sinkers/floaters/pearls/boba/jelly through a colorful straw that they poked through a cellophane lid that’s melted onto the rim of a plastic cup.
We’ve gone through a myriad of drink fads through the years; fruit shakes, coffee frappes, pearl coolers and Zagu branded libations and while these have stayed in the market, we’ve since moved on to a milk tea drinking rage. For one milk tea shop in Baguio, they’ve done a bit of a crossover putting together fraps and pearl coolers style … ah, ‘coolers’, and milk tea. Here comes Tea Generation! =)
First and foremost, the Tea Generation menu.
The first time we came by this milk tea shop at De Leon Building, they were in their soft opening phase. We just had the basic mixes to choose from then. (I meant to put them in a tea off with another tea shop that just opened too but as you already know fully, my fellow food enthusiasts, we’ve hundreds on our list. It’s just as well since I have tons to say about this place now. =D )
UPDATE 10/27/2014 : Tea Generation moved to old Shop ‘n Munch Building beside Zio’s on Leonard Wood Road (in front of Teacher’s Camp Gate 1).
It’s fun to chill here especially late in the afternoon when the setting sun is shining directly into the little store. We tried the new stuff, Irish cream shake and tiramisu as suggested to us by Maam Faith. (It was nice to formally meet you, Maam!) Yes, generation T(ea), you read right, they have shakes – as in milk tea blended with ice. \m/
Inasmuch as we already cooled off enough and enjoyed our choices, Maam Faith insisted on giving us a free sampling of their other concoctions. (Thank you so much po … I have new favorites. Yeah! (“,)) Twists to passion fruit tea: One with milk and the other with red tea, these made for new contenders to my tea shop go to choices. The milk in one cuts through the tartness of the fruit flavor perfectly. If you like four seasons, the glass infused with red tea will certainly hit the spot.

Bubble gum shake and double Dutch shake with coffee (“,) (These are what Race calls, the dinner ruiners. So filling, it can make for a dieting tactic. *harharhar)
There’s a ton of stuff happening in this shop besides their chilled brews. (Thrilling, that bubble gum shake. It’s like melted ice cream … or better yet, Coney Island ice cream. Any of you remember that place near CID Bookstore? Memory lane, I’m here again. *hihi)
Loyalty cards are just the beginning of it. Right now, they’ve got a photo contest going on where the one with the most Likes wins something special. Intrigued? Visit the Tea Gen shop to learn more.

The perks of loyalty: Rock salt and cheese best seller, taro flavor. Drank it Sip chapp style for the first half and it was lusciously mouthwatering.
X marks Tea Generation for good milk tea drinks and milk tea shakes in Baguio. Generation T, are we ready for summer? You bet, we are!
Ambiance: Relatively small shop and a bit challenging to find. Entering De Leon Building, you might think it’s not there. Keep on stepping towards Western Union and this milk tea shop is right beside it, hidden behind the office (I think that was) beside Casa Pizzeria.
