Miwishayu Burgers: A Great Burger for Me, We, Siya, You

Double food trip date with Ela and Paolo! Wee!

^^,

Open for a few months already, I’ve seen this food stall a couple of times (while stuck in traffic at Leonard Wood =b).  It was always foregone for other newly opened eating places in the City of Pines.  (Did I regret not trying it sooner? Yes, I did. However,) There was a purpose for the delay evidently because now, our first dining experience at Miwishayu was multiplied fun with the power eatsploration couple.

Climbing up the tight staircase to the small space allotted for three stalls in what used to be Shop ‘n Munch, don’t go feeling bummed for the lack of ambiance in this particular area.  (Zio’s has most of the floor space here, you see.)

A look at the photos on their menu (2018 menu here) and we were all mesmerized. *ohhs and ahhs.  Burgers with two 150 gram patties were chosen by the boys – Monster Overload and Dreaded Twain and single patty burgers for us, girls – Wisha and barbecue.

Wisha burger =D

I made it a point to steer clear of the ones with wasabi sauce fearing I’ll be red faced, teary eyed and fanning my mouth with those choices. When all our orders were made, Ela and I went inggit much at the guys’ “literal tall orders“. I felt like mine was the saddest burger, too.  (At least, Ela’s  was slathered with wasabi sauce and had a couple dynamites/chili cheese sticks in it.) Mea culpa, all because I didn’t want to take a chance. Boo-hoo.

My barbecue burger was good though. ^^,   I loved how the burger patty was solid, tasty and juicy … and not oily.  The sauces in between the patty and the bun were surprising and a stimulating taste in comparison to regular mayo and ketchup. (We didn’t need to squirt extra ketchup in for these sauces held their own in savoriness.)  The Piknik shoestring-like potato crisps, despite losing their crispiness dipped in the secret sauces of Miwishayu lent a toasted flavor to the bites I took out of my hamburger.

Barbecue burger =)

Hours after we’ve digested these good eats, I found myself wanting to go back to the burger stand to get the jawbreaker-tall burgers for myself.  =) We didn’t make it in time as Miwishayu closes at 6:00 p.m. and doesn’t open on Sundays. UPDATE /10/19/2018: Miwishayu along with Cozy Cove is now the inhouse resto at Mountain Lodge so longer operating hours.

Yesterday, my cravings were finally satisfied with Race bringing Monster, Twain and Wisha to me. \m/ For everything, it was the same solid, tasty, juicy patty with a zingy, nostril clearing but not burn-your-face-off wasabi sauce. The Dreaded Twain was also sweet&salty because of the teriyaki sauce topped on one of the patties. (“,)

Monster Overload burger … another literal tall order \m/

I did risk it this time and took a bite out of the Monster Overload with a piece of dynamite in it. Annnnnd, red faced, teary eyed, fanning my mouth, hands groping for a glass of water I went. =))

Satisfying cravings for Miwishayu burgers … =b (Pardon the squished up look of the buns. We can’t help it in its wrapped transport … condensation at work. Here’s a photo of the noncondensation affected Monster Overload burger.)

X marks Miwishayu for good food in Baguio. Not just good burgers but GREAT ones for me, we, siya and yes, YOU!

Race, Ela, Paolo and I concur the Miwishayu burgers now hold a memorable place in our hearts … and of course, our tummies. *hee
