Pho Hanoi: Home of Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine in Baguio
Welcome to Vietnam!
… in food trip city, Baguio City.
Totally forgot where I was … when I sat at one of the tables of this restaurant owned and manned by a Vietnamese family. =D Especially when the food was served = teleport to Hanoi.
Browsing through their (first) menu, I didn’t know what to get. Errr, it’s more like, I wanted to get everything. =b We then finally settled on noodles (something other than pho), salad, some dumplings, fried rice, and drinks. (Peach mania that made me feel a little bit duped since it wasn’t as peachy manic as I thought it would be. Anyhoo, no biggie.)
You might be wondering why I didn’t go for pho. (If you are, here’s the explanation. *hihi) Basing on experience, the pho we’ve encountered so far has been pretty watered down (nonsense) and because of that, the only pho I like is the one from Bay Leaf, one with a Philippine twist to it with soup that’s so tasty it will awaken every taste bud and send zings to your brain.

Bun nem, bun cha nuong/Noodle, spring rolls and grilled pork, washed down with a glass of peach tea mania =]
I got enough of that from this resto’s banana flower salad. \m/ Apart from already being giddy with excitement about the banana blossom ingredient, the sauce and the super chilies kicked my ass … in a good way. Oh and the texture of the components of the dish, so many facets, it made me dizzy happy.
Race’s noodle dish got the works, a fried spring roll and grilled pork. Out of everything in that bowl, I liked the noodles best. Even without sauce or soup, the oil held its own and was enough to make the delicate but firm noodles flavorful. ^^,
With almost similar stuffing as the spring roll, the dumpling was a supplemental when we finished off the rolls that came with Race’s noodle pick. Their fantastic special sweet/sour/spicy sauce is one of the reasons the rolls and dumplings became the fastest disappearing rolls and dumplings ever.
I got rice as a afterthought as I didn’t think it would be such a big serving. Under a blanket of scrambled eggs was rice mixed with so many seafood slices and bits, I could’ve just gotten this and I’d be happy …. or not. I really ❤ that banana blossom starter.
After such a visit with so many different Vietnamese selections checked off from their menu, we shelved Pho Hanoi for a bit and came back when typhoon Tisoy was brewing in the ber months.
Race and I both went for this Vietnamese restaurant’s soupy bowls because ti-gerger weather. =) Imagine my surprise when I took a sip of some of the soup from my pho ga. Zing and awakened my tastebuds were and this was even before I squeezed in the lemon and added some hot sauce to the broth. Pho Hanoi showing us how authentic pho is done. Wee!
Race’s soup bowl had tender, tender pig trotters in it as well as bamboo shoots. We both enjoyed this thoroughly. You know the type of food that even if you’re already full you still want to keep on eating and munching … and in this case, sipping away? These are exactly the dishes that make that happen. Somebody stop me, I’m going to burst! *tahaha
As for our other order, I especially liked the way the fresh spring rolls are made at this authentic Vietnamese food joint. Sturdy rice paper wrapper, sliced in the middle for one big but comfortable bite, complete with meat and shrimp and veg. =]
X marks Pho Hanoi Vietnamese Restaurant for good food in Baguio. So ‘authentically Vietnam’, you’ll feel like you’re in Hanoi. Annnnd, another one for my list of favorite eating places. (“,)
Ambiance: One treasure chest taken off because of the green on the walls. OMG, I gotta wear shades. *teeheehee

When you posted the menu of Pho Hanoi months ago I wanted to try their food but I waited to know detail of your experience
I read this post and I am very excited to try this Vietnamese restaurant myself
Hello, marietta! Aww, thanks for waiting for the feature post about Pho Hanoi at Hotel Caterina. If you did go as soon as you saw the menu though, I’m sure the Vietnamese family managing this resto would’ve taken good care of you.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy dining here as much as we do. Thank you so much for visiting Find Good Baguio Foods and leaving a comment! (“,)
Do they have a big parking space in PHo Hanoi?
Hello, Megan. Sadly, there’s just a small space in between Pho Hanoi and the buildings across from it. Looks like a private road so it’s better to commute to this Vietnamese food joint.
It would be easy enough to get a taxi when you’re done enjoying their foodstuff. I’m pretty sure you’d also be glad for a taxi ride because of the food coma from PhoHanoi’s delicious offering. *hihi
Thanks muchie for visiting this Baguio food blog! Happy Baguio food adventures! (“,)
Hello, vglbtailoringandprinting! I’m glad you like this feature post on Pho Hanoi Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine. Happy eatsplorations to you. (“,)
Thanks muchie for the star, Joyce! I hope you enjoy dining at PhoHanoi Vietnamese Restaurant when you make a visit. (“,)
Sayang I read the whole Pho Hanoi Menu on your post, and they don’t have banh mi. Vietnamese sandwiches are my favorite sandwiches.
Hello there, Steph! Oh, right, I did notice PhoHanoi was more focused on noodles … noodles they do pretty well, I’d say. We can keep our fingers crossed the Vietnamese owners will add sandwiches to their menu in the coming days. If not, we can always visit Yes Pho in the meantime.
Hope this helps. I hope you’ll still do your own food quest at Pho Ha Noi even though they don’t have the sandwiches yet. Thanks for dropping by this Baguio food blog. Enjoy! (“,)
