Lunch at the Villas – Villa Cordillera (The Fireplace) and Villa La Maja
Woke up late at your Baguio accommodation, eh? Missed breakfast most likely, too.
It’s alright. (Especially if you’re on vacay and with the temperature in the city (11◦C to 18◦C), who would want to get out of bed? =D (Brrr, it’s cold! *tigerger tigergrrr) If you happen to be staying at Villa Cordillera or Villa La Maja, you can rest easy because they’ve got a good lunch to offer you.
The Fireplace Bar and Restaurant

The surroundings at the Fireplace…what a view (of the greens), right? Weee! ^^, Inside, nothing special, although, this might look more interesting under cover of night. *hhhmm
The Fireplace is Villa Cordillera’s in-house restaurant. (The Villa is an extension of Baguio Country Club…so nonmembers can enjoy a country club treatment – just about. *hee)

At the time we were here, this beverage was just being introduced. I didn’t like it much…definitely, not a drinker. =b (Even if it says, “compliments of Baguio Country Club” on the glass. *harhar)

Cordillera garden greens and waldorf salad, pinakbet with bagnet, caldereta, gambas al ajillo. My favorite was the gambas. (“,) Bitin!/Left me hanging though…on account of the serving – that’s two shrimps each for my sister, my brother and me. *hihi My sister liked the Waldorf salad – inspired her to make some at home. =) My brother…no particular fave but yup, he ate it all. =))

Waiting, waiting…for the bill. Ohh, that was a long wait. I had so much time to go around, taking photos of every minute detail in the place. *shyeew
Food: Nothing much to offer in terms of dessert. With nothing else but the Baguio Country Club raisin bread, we had to move to another resto (Le Chef) to get the cake(s) we wanted.
(Yup, you read it right. If you’re dying to try the club’s raisin bread-P150 and you’re not a member or can’t find a member who will vouch for you, this is the place to get it – No membership required. ^^,)
Service: The gaggle of hotel attendants at the reception then were soooo noisy (talking about this and that as if no customers were there). (“At home sa Jollibee!” *snicker snicker)
Ambiance: for the tables set in the middle of the dining area,
by the window/balcony
Price: Small-ish serving proportions.

Villa La Maja
Going further into Outlook Drive, you’ll find Villa La Maja (behind Mansion House). Sort of nestled within the trees, the shrubs and various other plants, it’s a good idea to dine al fresco here.

The surroundings at Villa La Maja. You’ve got a view of the pine trees, fern trees and poinsettia when you look up from your Villa La Maja table.

Delightfully garlic-y rice, yum! (It could almost pass for shanghai rice with its flavor.) Laing cooked beautifully – without the itchies. Uber zingy soy chicken. Scrumptious siomai with lots of soy/calamansi juice dip and chili oil. (“,) You bet, we got more rice for these viands. A spoonful of sauce (laing or soy chicken) goes a long way. \m/

Dining amid the trees and the shrubs with the sun shining brightly on particular parts of the garden. ^^,
Service: Some dishes weren’t available. (But it was all good since we had a good meal with the other selections. =D)
Ambiance: in fantastic weather but be sure to slather on Off lotion.

X marks The Fireplace Bar and Restaurant (hopefully, the noisy staff know how to be quiet and discreet now =b …and also that they’ve got more to offer for dessert. How about some cheesecake, black forest, mousse cakes, and the other sweeties you’ve got at the BCC pastry shop/Raisin Bread? Please? ^^,) and Villa La Maja for good food in Baguio.
