Get Your Christmas Spirit On, Dining at Cosy’s Café and Roasterie
Besides food, I also like to take photographs of sights and scenes. (Again, these photographs help my memory *hihi I’ve had so many senior moments =))) One of the sights I never forget to take pictures of is the houses with overflowing Christmas spirit. There are mainly two houses well known for this, the one in Naguilan Road and one in Brookside. You can say that I’m the Christmas house stalker. (“,) As you might have guessed, these houses become picture worthy around the holidays. Good thing then, this is the Philippines, the Christmas season starts as early as October. \m/
Imagine how thrilled I was to learn about a new café opening in the vicinity of the Christmas house. Race and I always ride through Brookside and I never fail to look at that house, decorated or not. Now, I can actually take a photo of the house without putting my hand and camera through the gate. (I’m just so ecstatic about the prospect of getting a closer shot.)
We took our lunch at Cosy’s Café and Roasterie today. Even if they established themselves as a café, they have an offering beyond coffee and desserts. They also serve lunch. Today’s specials were chicken-pork adobo and fish sinigang. Starving a bit, we decided to order up some lunch and then we thought we’d go with their cakes and their coffee blends after. We got two orders of chicken-pork adobo at P60 each. That already came with rice. I give them two thumbs up for making a delicious viand. As common as chicken- pork adobo is, their version is really tasty. The meat was soft and tender too. I love it! (“,)
We were ready to have our blended coffee and dessert. For a newly opened establishment, it’s understandable that the staff was still getting the hang of things and moved kind of slowly. It took a few minutes for our drinks to be served but my, was the wait worth it! I got the vanilla berry smoothie that had a lot of berries in it (whatever those berries were, they weren’t raspberries ^^,). They were floating on top of the drink and many more sunk to the bottom of the glass. What a sensation it was popping the berries in my mouth! Weeee! Race got the mocha frap which provided for a good caffeine fix. Instead of berries, this had jellies – the Greenwich pearl cooler/Zagu crystal type, with a consistency almost like nata de coco.
There were four different cakes available today; blueberry cheesecake, cheesecake, choco fudge cake and black forest. Someone beat me to the last slice of blueberry cheesecake so I settled on the plain cheesecake. Race ordered a slice of the choco fudge cake. My dessert wasn’t as cheesy as I expected it to be but it was creamy good. Race liked it a lot. *heeee I liked the choco fudge cake. The cake bread was moist, spongy and chocolate-y. (Okay, exchange cakes! =b) It was placed on the saucer with care, complete with the decor icing on the sides that many other restaurants just leave on the display plate. (“,)
All in all, a good meal from Cosy’s Café and Roasterie. Coupled with my excitement over getting past the gate and taking my meal at the table with a view of the Brookside Christmas house (my other favorite spot =D), it was a great experience. (People were already working around the house and decorating it. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!! *tickled pink) When we left, the owners and the staff asked us to come again. My answer to that is – definitely! The Christmas house stalker strikes again! (And again and again when all the décor is in place and when the Christmas lights are turned on. *heeehahaha)
X marks Cosy’s Café and Roasterie for good food in Baguio (whether it’s simple or common dishes or coffee blends and cakes) . Get your Christmas spirit on, dining at Cosy’s! You’re right in the front yard of one of the houses in the city that’s overflowing with Christmas cheer . *ho-ho-ho

Hello there, Dorla! Thank you so much! I’m glad you like this blog! Have a wonderful day! (“,)
Just came from our second visit to Cosy’s today. (“,) I got the caffeinated version of my vanilla berry smoothie and Race got the coffee caramel frappe. Again, i enjoyed the berries from my drink (that went pop pop in my mouth). The owner said they were called popping bobba – a most appropriate name. Our drinks were mega frothy, a la cappuccino (but more of it *weeeee). We also got a slice of their blueberry cheesecake. Like my plain cheesecake from the first visit, it was a creamy dessert slice. We also got to meet the owner of the xmas house and got inside information about when the lights will be turned on. Oh my gosh, so excited! See you again and again, Cosy’s – my new favorite spot!
Oh, and yes, we got just the caffeine fix we wanted – AGAIN. (“,)
