A Lil’ Feastin’ in La Trinidad: Le Festin Bistro
They had me at
… salad. *tee hee hee
From the moment my friend sent me word about her latest discovery in La Trinidad and showed me the photo of the salad that captured her heart there, I knew I’d enjoy myself in this bistro. (Thank you so much, Cheryl! =D)
So yeah, even though Le Festin had other foodstuff on their 11 paged menu that we can feast on, I zeroed in on their salad offering and picked out the house salad and the apple and chicken salad from their extensive list. We ❤ veggies, remember?
Race … had to have some meat =b … and my healthy choices regaled our gobs while the BBQ pork ribs were being prepared for him. My foodie friend wasn’t wrong in loving the apple and chicken salad. The crisp crunch the apples and cashew nuts had, everything well coated in gooey dressing, and the minute bites of small chicken cuts also enchanted my taste buds. (Apir, Cheryl! *hihi)
The Le Festin salad, on the other hand, looked very nondescript, looked like every other salad I’ve eaten … Even the salads I made myself at home (using the magic salad dressings of Kewpie or Prime Rose) had the same features. I went through some kind of “foot in the brain” moment (because I didn’t speak that ‘nondescript’ observation out loud), however, as soon as we tossed the dressing (nondescript looking dressing too) in. *hee
Moving all the grated cheese to the side to make sure none of it falls off the oblong bowl, we saw the beautiful colors of the ingredients underneath. The purple hue of yam, orange color of kamote, and the red skin of the apples popped in contrast to the light colors of potato and egg. And that dressing I was quick to understate provided a fantastic refreshing orange zing to everything. They said salad al orange, I got salad al orange. What a dressing. Nyum! ^^,
Halfway through the salads, Race’s ribs order joined us at the table. The meat was so tender, the “bone fell off the meat”. =)) The sauce like a reduced citrus-soy mixture brought to our minds, bistek Tagalog. The onions cooked a few seconds till absolute caramelization also helped bring up that familiar taste.
Inasmuch as I was relishing the veggie treats in front of me (There doesn’t have to be only one ‘highlander vegetable’ *tahaha How that little tidbit on the menu entertained me.), I thought it best to get another eatable. This is ‘the feast’ after all, so we added another dish to munch on.

Race, after ordering the pizza, looking mighty proud of himself. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he’s singing Anthony Flea’s song “Food Around the Corner” in his mind. =))
Race went to the counter to get the restaurant’s signature pizza. It took some time for it to be made and so we got to look more closely at Le Festin Bistro’s simple dining area. An intimate sized place … Amusing clover decals on the window. =)
While we didn’t share this mealtime with other patrons, it was highly likely because Le Festin delivers. At one point, our attendant left the building, bearing bags of food for someone somewhere to feast on. (Do note the bistro’s number below, if you would like a delivery as well.)

Copy face X and the food items at our mini feast at Le Festin *nomnomnom
As soon as I saw the Le Festin pizza sprinkled with apple chips, I thought it’s some kind of Cordilleran twist to the mainstream bacon and apple pizza. Instead of bacon, they used kiniing. \m/ Not too thick, not too thin crust. The light dusting of parmesan cheese was a nice finishing touch. Of course, I was overjoyed with every juicy chewy bite I got of the shiitake mushrooms. While we felt it needed more pizza sauce … or the sauce somehow pooled itself more around the meat, it was an interesting pizza, a delicious pizza.
X marks Le Festin Bistro for good food. Now, that’s a little feast I would gladly have again and again. (“,)

Does Le Festin deliver to Baguio too??
Hello there, Carol! Yes. Le Festin Bistro has a cut off for both La Trinidad and Baguio areas in their menu so. They don’t have info on there about delivery fees and minimum orders though but I bet they’d tell you about those when you contact them for food delivery.
Hope this helps. Thank you for visiting Find Good Baguio Foods! Enjoy! (“,)
