Update on an UPDATE: Green Pepper Gourmet Stop
Stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight, Green Pepper Gourmet Stop revealed itself to be a star among the restaurants at the Ketchup Food Community and also great food establishments around the City of Pines. Reinvention (not just one but two) seems to have paid off and glad I am to have returned.
The Green Pepper Scene
- Weather proof dining.

The new Green Pepper scene. As you can see, it’s more weather proof now. Wall paneling (Home Improvement like fencing. Let’s do the Tim “the Toolman” Taylor grunt!) on what used to be open sides where diners could get wet in rainy weather. The wall inside is prettier also. (Wah, reminds me of Batanes. Oh to return to where the hills are alive and rolling =D). Take a look at BEFORE.
- Comfy, cozy. ^^,

It’s cozier now, too (second floor). Check out the cushions lined up on the balcony railing. Note, there’s a more reliable shade on the second floor al fresco dining. \m/
The Menu
There’s more in there. =) Definitely, a nicer looking menu, oh so classy gourmet looking.
… and the bane of a pancake dish has been nixed from the selection. (Nothing to be tempted and fizzled about now, Anne. *hihi Big hugs to you! (“,))

The new Green Pepper menu. Click photo to enlarge. Love how the food quotes were placed at the end of the pages. Oh yeah!
The Drinks
Race and I got the fresh fruit purees. Refreshingly yummy.
The Food
I was gunning for the eggs Benedict and I was happy to see that it was still available in the reinvented Green Pepper Gourmet Stop. I could’t resist getting a bowl of soup though so here’s our BIG bowl of tomato basil (with equally big ‘croutons’ *heehaha).

Tomato-basil soup (“,) I was expecting an itty bitty bowl of soup and what I got was enough to be my main meal. (I was thinking it would have a thicker consistency but no biggie. *hihi) It was super appetizing and I was so ready to get my eggs Benedict after a spoonful of this soup. Actually, we got all our orders at one time. The eggs came right after the drinks.
Voila, Race’s garlic braised chicken. Tasty! -that’s all I can say with what Race gave me. I was concentrating on the soup and my plate by then.
Eggs Benedict for dinner. A humongous helping yet again. (Totally caught me off guard. *hee) As hungry as I was, I knew from seeing all our orders laid out on the table that I was going to be mega satisfied.

Eggs Benedict ^^, Get a load of the beautiful salmon that the eggs are resting on (second photo). Eggs properly poached with runny yolk mixing with the Hollandaise sauce, Lor’ ha’ mercy! (The smallest photo on the collage = I have me a smiling plate of eggs Benedict.)
The Service
Green Pepper wasn’t as packed when Race and I came for our meal, this visit. We quickly got a table and the instant our butts touched the chairs, our attendant was there with the menus. (POOF! There she was! =b)
She asked us too if we were just in for a light snack or something heavy. Ohhh, see what she did there? She was getting the kitchen ready to provide for our needs. While we were waiting for our food, she was out and about preparing our table. Spoon, forks, knives, glasses, a jug of water, I didn’t have to ask her for anything.
When we were almost done with our meal, our attendant came back to the table and inquired about dessert. I was tempted really (Chocolate divinity? Who wouldn’t want that? =D Chef Anthony Bourdain is not included in this vote, all right? “I don’t like chocolate and cherries together. I don’t like chocolate and food together.” Ay, galit sa chocolate. =b) but every bit of real estate in my tummy was used up by the soup (not a drop was left in the bowl *snickers), the eggs Benedict and the garlic braised chicken.
I’m ready for my wheelbarrow now. Just roll me in it and take me home, please. ^^,
We’ll just come back for the dessert. On that visit, I’m having the stuffed pepper n’ eggs, the house special pasta (tuyo flakes on pasta, weee!) and … and … and …
NEW Treasure Chest Ratings for Green Pepper Gourmet Stop:
Service: Exceptional service! Thank you so much to our attendant that day! (“,) (You remind me of someone – features and voice. Know someone by the name of Camille? *hihi)
Price: Such huge serving portions, ahhhh. =)
