Destination Chow: Newtown Square Baguio (Redbuggy Burgers, Woodnymph+Tea, & Teacup and Cake)
Made you look. =)
Doesn’t that look scrumptious?
Let’s talk burgers (… and other munchables *hihi) in this post on what is now one of the destinations for good eats in the City of Pines, Newtown Square. Since our giant-ish bowls of filling rice porridge, a new burger place has opened on the first floor. (It’s thanks to the newest and youngest blogger in Baguio, discovered by Queen Ane that I came to know of this resto. Thank you so much and welcome to the blogging food exploring group! (“,))
On to the luscious fried patties of ground beef served on buns! I got mine stuffed. Stuffed with what, you, my fellow foodies might be curious. Bits of bacon, mushroom and some kind of gravy… or was that all the juiciness of the meat? #happiness
Since the Wood Nymph branch is also open and it’s right beside Redbuggy Burgers, I eyeballed their menu. Turns out, it’s a mini version of the Korean restaurant. =D
I found myself picking from one of their Tea selections. It’s just as well since there’s a limited option of refreshments at the joint next door. A tall glass and although matcha colored, is truly cooling melon milk.

The accompanying drink to the cheese burger combo, me and the beautiful burgers and a little peek into what the stuff is in the burger patty. =D
With Race’s combo comes a glass of red iced tea. It’s as red and as tea as you imagine it to be. =b We ate the fries on the side of the cheeseburger with gusto. So this is what fresh fries with no preservatives or MSG taste like. We’ll be coming back for more of those for sure. \m/
Race and I were pretty happy with our burgers. We did, however, want for more condiments – mayo, maybe some mustard and of course, ketchup. (I would like an order of ketchup with a side of fries please. =)) )
Not gratified enough (bottomless pits of men and apparently, women), X+1 shared a bowl of bibimbap from the mini Wood Nymph. This, I thought, lacked a few more dashes of sesame oil but Race gathered it’s because of the bowl. Uncanny … there really are two kinds of these at the main branches of this Korean place, must try both if I get the opportunity.

With such a pretty setup at Teacup & Cake, I couldn’t put them off for another day. This is where we had desserts of blueberry cream (it is not cheesy) cake and apple cobbler. Like a small but dense pie packed with apple, my better half enjoyed the cobbler a lot. Because of our wonderful attendant’s service and for the price of these sweet treats, a total of P175, we left this Destination Chow with big satisfied smiles on our faces. ^^,
Teacup and Cake
Service: Loved our chatty, friendly and accommodating attendant here. *pats on the back to you, Sir, weee!

X marks Redbuggy Burgers, Woodnymph + Tea, and Teacup & Cake for good food in Baguio. Where to eat in Baguio City? Make Newtown Square one of your destinations for grub.
We’ll try to be back soon to sample what the other Korean place has to offer (seems like the go-to spot of the people from the English academy across the street) and whatever else opens up here.

Korean students delighting in their bowls of instant ramen. Ahh, tutoring memories. Shout out to the kiddies I was prefect for, the originals: Joanne, Alice/Emma and John; and every Korean youngster (who loves their ramen *kk).

***Should’ve been next week’s post but just too excited *sheepish grins … and so you’ll know about a couple other food establishments while you’re on vacay in the Summer Capital. Enjoy, eatsplorers! (“,)
***Okidoki, I’m moving this where I was supposed to put it, the 21st. Till next blog post. *hihi for the sake of our food timetable organization, ahh, CDO.
