Eatsploring La Trinidad: The Loft Restobar

Hello! =D

La Trinidad metro Baguio The Loft Restobar last staircase to the dining area

Stairway to The Loft … the last case/flight. =))

… from the lofty eating spot that we’ve recently come upon and tried out, thanks to Chef Ro of the Cafe de Angelo brand. With X+1 and Jo in tow, we enjoyed a short ride to La Trinidad, our anticipation of sampling what the three-week-old resto has to offer growing as we got closer to our destination. (I guess, some tummies’ protestations grew, too. Jo and I prepped for the food tasting by not having anything at all the whole afternoon *heehaha or should I say *grumble grumble)

Sir Justin, the J of J’s Loft, our host met us outside TG Building and while guiding us to the entrance on the side of the building, informed us there’s a  challenge we had to get through before we could stuff ourselves silly with the restaurant dishes: It was to climb a long narrow “stairmaster“. Tan-tan-TAAAN!!! But don’t let this deter you, my foodie friends. (It surely didn’t for us.) Just let the idea of relishing on pizza, pasta, and more keep you moving up the steps.

Pizza

Chicken BBQ pizza and all meat supreme pizza. ^^,

Et voila! Chicken BBQ and all meat supreme pizza. As deeelish as both 10-inch pizza pies were, it came as a surprise to me that I liked the chicken barbecue more. You see, I haven’t found a white sauce pizza I really liked … until now. They usually lack flavor but this one was different. With lots of chicken bits, creamy cheese, and barbeque sauce, it was a tasty treat. So too was the meat topped pizza with its sausage slices, ham, ground beef, bacon, and marinara sauce. Yes, more than pizza sauce. Marinara sauce. *nomnomnom

Pasta

Vegetarian pesto pasta =)

Looking like a combo of pomodoro and aglio olio, The Loft’s vegetarian pesto was a refreshing sight in that, it was a beautiful mix of reds/orange and greens. The aroma was pesto but more than the pesto shown through with every forkful. We had such a ball with the veggies tossed in with the spaghetti. I love me some ‘shroooms. ^^,

… and More

Up next, doria or more simply, rice gratin/rice casserole … paella if you like … Japanese/Korean version. That’s what the seafood doria looked to us. Again, another fave found from J’s Loft food lineup. \m/ You already know how much I love rice that double’s up as an entree and here, we discovered a non fishy smell seafood dish to boot. It had mussels, squid, fish, shrimp but zero malansa odor. As for the chicken doria, think red sauce risotto but not as mushy moist. There’ so much chicken in there, you’re sure to get some with almost all your spoonfuls. Bring on the carbo load! *hee

La Trinidad metro Baguio The Loft Restobar buffalo wings and fish and chips

Buffalo wings and fish and chips =D

Then there’s pica-pica … this is a restobar, after all. We got our chompers on a basket of buffalo wings and fish and chips.  Whoa, the garlic dips were mighty flavorful, a fab pairing to the downplayed taste of the fish fillet and potatoes. With regard to the buffalo wings, eat it on its own or dip it in the garlic sauce, you’re good either way. =) By far, this is the most delectable buffalo chicken wings I’ve ever had. One bite and you already get that kick from the sticky sauce covering. *finger lickin’ finger gun good!

I’m already marking J’s Loft Resto Bar for good food in La Trinidad, metro Baguio. I can’t wait to be back here. Definitely, worth the stairmaster challenge. =b

    • XiNE says :

Hello, Mario! Uhaha, the least I can do for a religious reader and commenter; thank you so much for the support!

Yes, we did get to try a lot of stuff, thanks to our uber generous host(s). Carbohydrate loading with pizza, pasta and rice. *hihi

Oh, I loved the buffalo wings because even though it did have a kick from the first bite to the end, it’s not the annoying kind, like eating fire and your tongue gets numb after? Carry, I think … if I can do it (mahina sa spicy food), you can. Enjoy, J’s Loft Restaurant/Bar, Mario! Thanks again! (“,)

How far is The Loft coming from Baguio CBD?

    • XiNE says :

Hi! Baguio city center to The Loft Restobar La Trinidad, maybe 15-20 minutes by taxi and probably double that by jeep since their jeeps are huge and take a bit of time to get full. Thanks for visiting Find Good Baguio Foods! (“,)

  3. Alysa says :

Eatsploring expanding to find good food-La Trinidad. I want to try the Loft’s doria. Tnx for your very informative blog.

    • XiNE says :

Hello there, Alysa! Oh, we find ourselves in La Trinidad a lot doing groceries and for instant scenery change. You might like to check out Inglay and Kai Cafe while you’re there. See how they’ve grown since I featured them here.

I hope you enjoy the doria(s) as much as I did! Even if I felt like i was about to explode with all the Loft dishes we tried, I was still sneaking in some spoonfuls as the evening went along. Really amazing how the seafood rice gratin wasn’t stinky. =b

Thank YOU for visiting the blog and also leaving a comment! Have a wonderful time in your food quests, in Baguio, in La Trinidad and elsewhere! (“,)

This is new. A feature on a restaurant in La Trinidad. It sounds like you really enjoyed The Loft Restobar. I will put this on my list too. Thank you for this feature:-)

    • XiNE says :

Hiyee, Candy! So far I’ve featured La Trinidad eating places like Inglay, Kai and then this, J’s Loft Resto Bar. More to come, hopefully. *hee

It sure was an uber fun evening with lots of food and laughs with our hosts. So excited to tell you all, my foodie friends, about The Loft and its fab dishes.

Please do put this on your restaurant list and I wish you as memorable a time as we had when we were there. Thank you so very much! (“,)

It’s La Trinidad, Benguet po not metro Baguio..

    • XiNE says :

“BLISTT (informally, Metro Baguio) is an agglomeration of the city of Baguio and five municipalities of the province of Benguet, namely: La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro_Baguio

If you’re referring to my last line, apparently, you just visited this blog now because I always end with “X marks ___ for good food in Baguio” but since I’m well aware that I’m not in Baguio at the Loft, for consistency’s sake, I had to end with a Baguio in it. Check the address at the bottom part of the post, I already had “La Trinidad, Benguet” since this was published, dear anonymous one.
