Intermission: Of Doggie Seizures and Sneak Peeks
My furry companion is at it again. =S
Canine seizures, the vet told me, don’t really have a cure (Major BUMMER!) but they can be managed by a variety of treatments. Since overheating is the most common probable cause, I give my doge a dip in the tub (the biggest palanggana we could easily carry home *hihi) … followed by a real bath (we’re there anyway =b) at least once a week.

My poor seizure boy. =( (He’s happy in this photo, of course; rolling out his pink carpet of a tongue. All dogs are in a walk. *hihi)
With my little (nonscientific) notations on when he has bouts of the shakes, I began to notice some patterns. What we managed to keep to two seizures in two weeks, is now becoming four seizures in two weeks and the fourth one he had early this morning was pretty bad. The stuff that I think gives us the longest duration in between the attacks – bangus as well as whole grain bread, doesn’t seem to be working its magic today. [I try to avoid the anti-seizure medications when I can; the last thing we want is medication tolerance/resistance. (Those pills don’t come cheap, either.)]
I’m going to put off the feature post for today to watch my salt and pepper lovie like a hawk but so we won’t waste any time, I’ve still got some Baguio food/restaurant details to serve to you.
Sneak Peek (“,):
A foodieventful day in my food blogging life
Yesterday started out pretty normally. It became a bit sweeter with the delivery of my mini peach and mango pie order from Waistline Luxuries. Yes, I’ve mentioned this online bakeshop a couple of times … how can I not when they’ve got so many delectable treats I’d love to get my chompers around? Rum cake-why, yes, please. Something for your sweet tooth as well as eye candy-a big and resounding YES, please!
We then set out for the home stay, Le Coq Bleu to catch up with our friends there … over Zio’s pizza (with kangkong), ice cream and coffee. OMG, the ice cream they make at this place! Luxurious and artisanally unique; c’est magnifique! Now, if you want to get a taste of that yourself, you’re going to have to book a stay at the cottage. =D It’s exclusive for guests, you see. I know, I’m doing a frowny face about that too. *heeharhar (Thank you so much, Maam C and Sir B! It was great to see you again!)

Hanging out at the newly expanded Le Coq Bleu balcony, enjoying apple cinnamon/apple pie flavored ice cream (“,)
I then met up with OA (Opposites Attract’s Queen Ane and King Sir Omeng) at HANDS Aesthetic, a spa, a salon and a cafe (also a guest house =) ) in Lourdes Subdivision to cap the eventful day off. (Many thanks, Maam Sharon and Sir Petrus for inviting us over for your Taco Night. It was great to meet you both!)
Eat all you can events like this happen every Saturday at the spa and cafe. Every month, they put the spotlight on a different cuisine, so you might want to give their Facebook page a Like to be notified on what they’ll have for the particular Saturday you’re planning to come for some pampering.
And more pampering, we’ll be back for on another day, for sure. I’m excited to try the weekday menu as well as some beauty treatments before I write the actual blogpost. FYI: The stuff they use at the spa and salon are Korean products. Ohh, fancy. ^^,
I’m going to cuddle with my furry friends, now. Dog pile! \m/

Two of my dogs also get seizures, Ate 😦 Nala (the mother) has only had it once but Aries seems to have it more often. His triggers are usually the cold and when he gets too excited (when the cats turn into their annoying selves and bug my mom and I to give them food) or agitated (when my crazy (for real) uncle is being his very difficult self). What seems to work with him is this medicine called PetEase. It uses organic ingredients and we only give it to him when he starts to shake. It calms him down in a few minutes. 🙂 And he’s been seizure free for a few months now. 🙂
Hello there, Ela! Whoa, suddenly, canine seizures seem more common. Sana wala nalang for animals, so hard watching them at it.
Im thinking now, the cold is a trigger too, he just had a fifth one last night. So hard to find a balance with the heat and the cold na *hihi
Thank you so much for the tip on PetEase, Ela. I will set out for it right this minute. ^^, Fingers crossed, this also works for him so seizure free for … ever na rin sya! wehehe Have a great new week, Ela! (“,)
This is the most informative blog, hands down! I’m always up-to-date on new restaurants opening in Baguio now B-)
Hello there, Mario! Thank you so much! I hope your Baguio eatsplorations are wonderfully rewarding! I really appreciate the comment. (“,)
