UPDATE: Secret Garden
I’ll say it again: There are sooo many places to eat in Baguio City.
Our list is composed of a little more than 150 restaurants (the overly popular not included), I’ve been forced to put one of my favorite hangouts on hold for so long. (Not that it was a bad thing sitting to a good meal in one of the nice places where to eat in Baguio but the obsessive can’t-get-enough-of-a-good thing side of me is already hyperventilating and throwing tantrums.)
So Secret Garden, we have returned! How I have missed you! ^^,
From our last visit (… almost a year ago, whew!), I noted more improvements in our best loved spot. The curtain that hung limply on the glass pane of the sunroom pushed to the sides (that got me thinking what was its purpose hanging like that) was replaced with elegant drapes. These were also tastefully tied giving them a look that was more fluid and graceful. They truly match the beautiful lounge now. *contented sighs
Having made our selections, I took photos around the place as if I have never been there before. Oh, look at that, a TripAdvisor sticker! Nice going, Secret Garden! *clap clap clap
Parched diners that we were that day, Race got a pitcher of lemonade (good for four it says on the menu). That was a restoring pitcher of refreshment. *ahhh I’m not sure if it was freshly squeezed lemon or if it was a powder mix but it took care of our thirst in a few sips.
Just to get a taste of it, I ordered another drink, double dutch frappe. This was a bit too rich for me that I enjoyed the lemonade better. Probably on a nonthirsty day, it would do a better job of being an excuse to hang around the Secret Garden sunroom. =b
At the center of my cravings that only South Drive Manor’s Secret Garden could satisfy were the quesadilla thin pizzas. I’ve been meaning to get a taste of the piccante pizza and on this day, I was fulfilled. Topped with jalapeno and red pepper (crushed, it looked like) and slivers of garlic, this was a pizza that had a strong kick. Two slices eaten one after the other had me reaching for Race’s glass of lemonade. (Yes, that was in truth, his drink. =)))
This is Race’s second time to get the beef belly roast. It felt like he never tried it though since this Secret Garden dish also got a makeover. Just take a look at the photo below. Ahey, beef belly roast, I didn’t recognize you. ^^,
I just have to zoom in on the pretty garnishing on this plate. Another classy addition to a sophisticated dining place in the City of Pines. Since it was immortalized in the photo, you can bet that little bits of that went with every spoonful that Race ate of the beef strips.
As thin as the pizzas are here, they’re packed with flavor but not that heavy. I got another pizza to complete my dinner, four seasons pizza. Encore for Vivaldi’s concerto in my head, too! =D

More on the new window treatment. *hee Take a look at that, it goes up to the glass pane roof now. … and there I am, blending in with the drapes. =))
Wait a minute! I’m not yet done with the thin crust pizzas of Secret Garden. I was actually torn between getting piccante and margherita pizzas on our return and so when I went a-visiting to some friends’ house, I thought I would come bearing a gift, margherita pizza. (Shout out to the Calinao clan! Will come by again, only Tita got to try the pizza … unless she left some for you guys when you got home? See you, guys, soon! Big hugs! (“,))
While I waited, the drapery going up to the ceiling suddenly made sense to me. On an extremely sunny day, it gets too bright and hot in that particular part of the restaurant. Definitely, a sunroom. Oh, how I wanted to park my butt there again. *hihi
Anyway, I had the little fishies in the counter aquarium to entertain me.
A nice looking pizza … so nice, it didn’t look real (like the plastic food displays in old/some restaurants). Amusing, the super thin slices of tomato. Quattro stagioni still holds the place in my heart and my tummy though. When it comes to pizza margherite, I like Volante‘s version better.

Just hanging out. =D Extra seating area in the sunroom. … from the dark corner behind the counter in Secret Garden’s Red Orange days. Secret Garden is STILL our favorite spot.
Now, my obsessive addict of a personality has been appeased. I can get on with the quest of crossing off the other food establishments from the list. Away, we gooo! (“,)
