UPDATE: Pizza Volante
It’s time we tried dining at the other Pizza Volante establishments and so here we are now.
First up, it’s their branch at Ayala Technohub in Camp John Hay (Tel #: 619 0466).
This was just a segue for Race and me when we found that we were a bit famished after coming to CJH to drink Moonleaf teas. It looked like rain, too and so we didn’t go any further from where we already were. Luckily, there’s a myriad of choices now at the Technohub and for this meal, we chose Pizza Volante.
A spacious restaurant, this must be one of the hangouts for the people working at Convergys. Just so you know, Pizza Volante is one of the restaurants offering good food 24/7. ^^, Yes, the one on Session Road is spacious too, what with their other floor but since it’s still on the floor plan of the old Session Theater, I find that Pizza Volante store a haphazard dining place. As long as I get my seat by the wide window, though, there will be no complaints there. *snickers)

Grilled tanguigi and grilled salmon belly … more correctly, grilled salmon, period. I didn’t notice the belly fats. Melted away on the grill? =)
(Still in a seafood mood,) Race and I zoned in on the fish dishes on their menu. Grilled tanguigi fish steak for Race and grilled salmon belly for me. Both dishes were served with mixed vegetables and Corsican rice. From the photo, my salmon belly looked over charred but really it’s just the skin. Digging into the fish, it was, “Hello, pink fish”. ^^, I didn’t get to taste Race’s order … slipped my mind *hee. (He pointed out however, that the sauce served at Pizza Volante Session is better than what was given to me – plain soy sauce and calamansi juice. Anyhoo … =D)
Pizza Volante CJH Ayala Technohub Rating
Food: (Maybe I should’ve gone with the first dish that caught my attention – carrot salad. Water under the bridge *heee.)
Service: Great service from our attendant that day. You know who you are, thank you so much! Fast, accommodating, anticipated our needs … nice going! (“,)
Next stop, Pizza Volante Wright Park (Tel #: 422 2316)
Coming up the stairs to this Volante establishment, the place seemed to be a tight squeeze. It made up for it, though, with the tables laid out around the store (there were many) where you can dine al fresco. (Sort of – every table had shade propped up over it, the kind that people park their cars under. *hihi)
The menus that this branch (as well as the one at Pizza Volante Technohub) are new. In it, there was a page with a huge photo of pizza Margherite. It’s the pizza Ave and I used to order when there was only the Session Road branch. (Shout out to Ave! (“,) Big hugs!) I just had to have that! One other thing I love about pizza from this restaurant is that it comes in four different sizes, 6, 8, 10 and 14. \m/ (6 inches: personal pizza. On second thought, I should have gotten a bigger one. *harhar)

Carrot salad (my chompers were around this in a snap!), KIDDIE sized combo meal, iced tea and iced ginseng. The iced ginseng didn’t taste at all like anything. It was like colored water … I trust that Pizza Volante Wright Park put the ginseng in there … I hope they did. =b
I wasn’t going to let the carrot salad pass this time! =D Race got combo meal 1 which came with grilled boneless chicken, a slice of pizza, bolognaise pasta, french fries and iced tea (or lemonade if that’s what you prefer). This was a disappointing platter of food. For P199, it was tinsy-winsy. (The piece of chicken was so small, I thought about leftovers. *harhar) It got Race longing for the combo meals served a Don Henrico’s. Ouch. Luckily, my carrot salad was there to save the day – needed more calamansi juice but it’s okay. This brought up memories of a younger me snacking on potato peeler thin carrots in summer. Mem’ries ♪♪... =)

Inside and outside Pizza Volante Wright Park. =) Better cross your fingers, it doesn’t rain like it is/did today when you’re sitting at one of the tables outside.
Pizza Volante Wright Park Rating
Service: minus
for noisy staff. Yes, we were seated at the table in front of the counter but oh my, the staff at Pizza Volante Wright Park was a rowdy crowd. Also, all Pizza Volante restaurants are very stingy with their tissue.
In summary, Pizza Volante is still flying high providing Baguio and its visitors with good food. It’s all with picking the right branch to go to. In my case, it’s the one at CJH first and Session, next. (“,)
