La Comida (y Bebida) de Antonio Ristorante: Muy Delicioso!
Going through some documents, one of the members of my foodie posse came across an ad for Comida Ristorante. As is the protocol since I started this blog, anyone who finds someplace new to eat in Baguio informs me so I can add the resto to the list. (Thanks so much, you guys! ^^,) We’re not sure how long Antonio Ristorante has been open (slipped my mind to ask *hee) but since it’s new to me, let’s just put it in this in category: New in Town. =) (Whew, lots of food establishments opening, gots to keep up. *hihi)
On the floor level below OMG, La Comida de Antonio Ristorante is a spacious dining place serving Spanish cuisine and more. They’ve also got an ice cream ‘bar’ (a place where drinks and often food are served =b) that serves ice cream creations like banana splits, peach melba, sundaes, shakes, etc.)
Right after placing our orders, I took that preparation time to look around the establishment. Such a fine time I had looking at the many interesting curios in the place (ornate creche, candle holders, wind chimes …)
The most notable thing in the ristorante, however, is the view. (“,) They were right in saying it’s a nostalgic view. I imagine I could sit at one of their tables looking at that scene for hours. *contented sighs
We then turned our attention to our plates.
Ribs, again for Race. (He’s on a quest now to find the best ribs. I just might have that as one of the topics for an upcoming blog.) A slab of soft meat slathered on with sauce whose flavors found its way into the lean, resting on a bed of potato chips, nomnomnom … won me over with the potatoes. *snickers
Saucy, tomato-ey, strips upon strips of tripe, I got myself a good enough bowl of callos. I would’ve liked the tripe and the other pieces of meat to be melty tender though (a little more time to simmer in the pot, perhaps) but it’s nothing I couldn’t adjust to.
Commercial break … Ahh, the effect of stained glass windows, so purdy.
It took awhile for our ice cream shakes to arrive and taking a sip from my glass, I knew the wait was worth it. Smooth, velvety, thick (like a DQ Blizzard left at room temp for a while) and oh so blueberry was my shake. Race’s was true to being banana peanut butter. It was also smooth, velvety, and thick. I couldn’t wait till the panacotta was available to get blueberry pana cotta shake. *eeeiii-xcited (For this and the view, Comida Restaurant is now one of my favorite places.)
