UPDATE: Barn Cafe
With a P3 meeting long overdue (Sure, we were just complete at BamBenny but with a friendship like this, once a month doesn’t really cover it. Used to be, it was an everyday meeting with texting as if we didn’t meet at all after our dinner/standing around in front of Chow King “waiting” for a taxi =b); Beth, Karla and I made up for lost time by spending the whole day together.
(Essentially, we didn’t plan it that way … or maybe, Beth did who was going ka-ching with dividends *hihi) When we thought about where to hang out, the Barn Cafe popped up in my mind as the perfect place since it’s both not that far and not that near town. They had foodstuff I still wanted to try out and also, they had a cozy and nice looking establishment.

Knickknacks and things around Barn Cafe. So amusing the overalls painted cup with feet painted on the saucer. =D
I was sure they would be open at 8:00 a.m but when we got there, the door and the gate were still closed and as a back up plan, P3+1 walked a little further up to Ebai’s Cafe and Pastry for breakfast.
Like I said, we were making up for lost time. So when lunch got close enough, we (P3-1 now) decided to check back at the Barn.
Since they just opened, we had our pick of the tables. The solitary staff member that day told us, however, that we could take a seat upstairs (it was just a boutique on my first visit) so that’s where we planted ourselves.
UPDATE 08/23/2014: Barn Cafe that I knew of on the writing of this post (2013) had since turned into a real bar today (as per a comment left under the first feature post on Barn Cafe, by an anonymous food quester), proceed with caution, if you’re planning on coming here now for the ambiance.

A newer (a few additions to the selection), harder (laminated) menu
While our attendant prepared our orders, we went all girly with the stuff in the Barn boutique and looked at clothes on the racks, the shoes, the accessories and various other trinkets they had for sale.

Shopping craze at the Barn Boutique. Beth sporting an Umbro jacket and me, a flopsy hat that I envision is going to go perfectly with many a summer holiday outfits. Karla, the ever thoughtful aunt, was looking at kids’ accessories behind the rack of clothes there (in the photo). ^^,
We weren’t quite done with the shopping when our attendant came with our drinks. Good timing, it was getting hot up at the second floor (because it was midday and we were so confused about which top, which dress, which book, etc. to get *hee).

The Barn’s version of milk teas. More flavors now like blueberry and watermelon. \m/ I would rather not stir my drink though, thank you very much. =b
Of course, our meeting has to be documented with photos.

P3 photo ops at Barn. Thank you so much to our attendant who was so accommodating with me and my specifications for pictures! Photographer ka na/You’re a photographer, weee! (“,)
This is what we had for lunch.

Chicken Schnitzel – my order. A good light lunch that came with buttered veggies and rice. Nicely cooked chicken schnitzel, too. Finally, I got to try another dish from the menu. More gravy please? *hihi
Beth got herself the fish and chips which was still deliciously un-fishy with yummy potatoes and a tangy tartar dipping sauce. =D

Salisbury steak – Karla’s order. It’s more of a salisbury burger patty but it’s just the right serving. Again, we just wanted a light lunch. It came with buttered veggies and rice, too.
When we finished our (light) lunch =)), we moved downstairs for our dessert. There’s no need to ask questions about what we got. We were at the Barn so we got something from Krispy Kreme – their truffle kremes.

The last two boxes of Krispy Kreme truffle kremes (that day). Great timing. We got to taste all six flavors! \m/ Yes, every truffle was hating kapatid/divided equally into three.
Ahh, what a fun time P3 had at the Barn Cafe. *contented sighs
Food: for my chicken schnitzel. Another
for bringing a new Krispy Kreme product up to Baguio.
Service: and
to our attendant. He knows us so well. “Mga girls talaga.”, he says about our shopping frenzy. AHA! So that’s why you made (not really, we wanted to) us sit in the second floor! (“,) Thank you again for being so accommodating (with my phototaking OCD in particular).

Just in case you were wondering about the Barn Cafe’s hours of operation, they’re open everyday. ^^, It’s 8:00 (thereabouts) to 11:00 p.m. Sunday to Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. (thereabouts =D) to 1:00 a.m. Thursdays to Sundays.
They also have acoustic nights on Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays.
