P3, Lovers in Paris, and Bambenny

Happy hearts Day, everybody!

We’ll get on to P3’s pre-Valentine dining experience at Bambenny, but first, let’s do a bit of reminiscing. *hihi

Bambenny sign (Marcos Highway)

Bambenny Marcos Highway Revisited:

Race and I came to Baden Powell Hotel looking for Pizza Riccio in 2010.  We ran into the owner who told us about the move, the new name and the mouthwatering pastas and pizzas he makes.

Welcome to Bambenny, Marcos Highway.

Dining in Bambenny (Marcos Highway)

Pizza and pasta 2010, eat all you can pizza and pasta 2012 \m/

Note the disco era and comic-sy style establishment.  The painting on the ceiling got me thinking of the “Shake It Groove Thing” song. (“,) I was particularly amused with their menu (the actual menu).  Their offering was printed on a Monopoly game board.  (Pass go now and collect food in your tummy! *hihi) For the first visit, we just got lasagna (ooey gooey with lots of cheese, lip-smacking good and heavy).  We got their deep dish pizza to go so we could share it with our loved ones at home.

Bambenny (Marcos Highway) pizzas and pastas

Pizzas (halves of Italian classic, meat lover’s paradise, deluxe cheese and Hawaiian  and pastas (lasagna, aglio olio, pesto, carbonara and regular spag) ^^,

Next visit, the family tagged along and we tried their eat all you can pizza and pasta.  The pastas were just okay, despite being a little bit undercooked.  The pizza was deliciously heavy. Strange though, the Hawaiian pizza had no pineapple chunks in it but the Italian classic had them.  Identity crisis? *snicker snicker.

Deep dish pizza….with my furry loved ones waiting to get a piece of it. (Check out our poodle’s wide eyed look, in contrast to – click here. *hihi)

Notice the ‘pan’.  Bambenny wasn’t confident about this pizza being transport worthy so they put it in the pan.  I appreciate it, guys!  It ensured that I brought this home in one piece and boy, did we love every bit of it. ^^,  Hooray for stringy cheese!

Back to the Present:

With Bambenny returning to its old home, Beth and Karla were pretty curious about the stuff they had to offer.  So for our pre-Valentines meeting (before it gets crazy crowded in the city), this was the place to go.  (It’s in town, too, so it’s easier to get to.)

Bambenny (Baden Powell Hotel) scene

Bambenny finding itself back in its original home. P3, all comfy and at home in the restaurant…and Karla knitting her brow at the Bambenny Monopoly menu (foldable now) because she didn’t know what to get. =b

Bambenny is a huge establishment especially if you consider the seating options – the section on the mezzanine/lobby of Baden Powell Hotel and the space from the entrance and even the walkway to Bambenny/the hotel itself.  Karla mentioned that she felt the resto design was a little confused.  It could pass for a pastry shop, a cafe and a mini disco (look to the ceiling and lo and behold, the disco ball).  Essentially, this is a diner serving burgers, fries, shakes…aside from the pizza and pasta.  (BTW, they also have stuff – stationery, caps, towelettes with cute packaging, etc. on display which I assume is also for sale. So they also look like a boutique for knickknacks. =D)

Bambenny (Baden Powell Hotel) lovers in Paris pasta

Lovers in Paris pasta (“,)

We had so many food items to choose from, so we went for the eat all you can pizza and pasta (just to get a taste of a whole lot more… or so we thought). The Lovers in Paris pasta was a hit for us… with a little sprinkling of salt. *hee  (I didn’t get a photo of the pasta menu. I thought everything was listed on their makeshift placemats.  I pocketed mine, only to find out when I got home that it just had the pizzas. =b Oopsie.)  They also made good bread sticks (flavorful and cheesy).

P3 at Bambenny (Baden Powell Hotel)

P3 Valentines dinner date at Bambenny (Baden Powell Hotel). Kinda looks like we’re playing house. =)

For the pizza, we opted for half deluxe cheese and half Italian classic.  Love how the cheese became crusty all over the dough!  So the deluxe cheese was our favorite pizza for this visit.  \m/ The Italian classic pizza still had chunks of pineapple in it.  Hhmmm, curiouser and curiouser. It was nice that they toned it down with the dough, though.  It was almost thin crust in comparison to the pizzas I had with my family. (More room for eating other dishes.)

Italian classic and deluxe cheese pizza. =D

Moving on to the (other) pasta dishes. Getting regular spaghetti a la carte, this comes wiz a meatball; in eat all you can, the spaghetti likes to be alone. These were still a bit undercooked but we finished them nonetheless. We had to. Bambenny has a ‘no leftover policy’.  (…or was it just no sharing…whoa, my brain…affected by the carbs. =)))

Bambenny (Baden Powell Hotel) pastas

The pastas (pesto – before and after tossing, carbonara, regular spaghetti) *oh yeah

Our pre-Valentines dinner of pizza and pasta eat-all-you-can went well.  We had a lot to catch up on, you see.  (So much so, we were the second group to arrive and the last group to leave the restaurant.) Last night, it was P3, a crusty cheesy (half) pizza, pasta called Lovers in Paris and Bambenny. A perfect Valentines dinner date!  In this case, (two of) my Valentines are and will always be Beth and Karla.

Group hug!!! (“,)

My brother ‘gone comics’ as the Super Villain toying with the Super Heroes at Bambenny. Que horror, the irreverence. *harhar

Bambenny (Marcos Highway and Baden Powell Hotel) 2012 - 2013

As for us, we’re the super fans of the Super Heroes. Beth, on the other hand, was going for a Wonder Woman vibe. =))

X marks Bambenny for good food (special mention, of course, deep dish pizza) in Baguio.

See you again, soon, Bambenny! Karla, Beth and I want to try the other dishes.  (The chicken, in particular.  It looked so good being delivered to the other tables, we got food jealous. ^^,)
