Although, it’s sold for a little more than P350 today (oh yeah, I was one surprised foodie when they told me how much these babies go for these days =)) ), streamline cakes have always been one of Baguio City’s (party) favorites. (Extra charge for birthday greeting written in imported icing, our attendant informed us so you’ll be shelling out something like P400 if you’re buying the cake for a real party. *shyeew)
For as long as I can remember, I was always looking forward to birthdays and various holidays that called for cakes. These events provided for instant relief from the endless meals (ang drama =b) with pinakbet and other veggie based viands. *heehaha I was sure one of the options laid out on the party table would be these huge, rectangular, soft and spongy things topped with stripety alternates of cream and wet yema-like sweetness. ^^,
Celebrate good times, come on! (“,) … CELEBRATE! and then Steve, Flint Lockwood’s lab partner pushes the button on the celebrationator, a party in a box for any occasion!
(Back in the day, the Dainty Lunch versions of these had alternate stripes that looked like clear mucus. Sounds gross right, but we didn’t care =b … and I STILL don’t care.
