UPDATE: Picmonkey Photo Editing Tool
In one of my ‘Origins’ category posts, we talked about how I put the foodstuff photos in my blog together. One of the tools that I made use of (online) was Picmonkey. When they picked up from where Picnik (another photo editing tool that closed) left off, everything they had to offer was free. Come to think of it, they did mention that that arrangement was going to be a ‘for now’ thing. =b
The ‘everything free’ in Picmonkey has ended. They have such a thing now as upgrading your account to Royale so you can have ‘ads free editing, more glorious effects and exclusive lux-o designs’. (Don’t be shocked now when you visit their site, okay? ^^,) Upgrading is going to cost $4.99 a month. (A pretty reasonable fee, I guess but if I’m going to pay for the Royale features, I’m going to make sure that I have a huge batch of photos to glam up. *hihi)
Note the orange ‘Upgrade’ button…and that pesky orange monkey wearing a crown on the photo =b. The only way to get him off your back, or in this case, the photo you’re editing is to pay for the Royale features.
It’s not the end of the world, however (we know that =D). You can still edit photos and create collages for free. Basic edits like cropping, exposure; effects like boosting color, changing the tint of photos; some overlays, some frames, etc. wouldn’t cost you a cent. And for fancier tools like far out fonts, glorious (err, let’s take it down a notch *hee) frames, vintage-y photo effects, we can still rely on Ipiccy.
