Brothers Burger, Where Art Thou?

Apparently, Brothers Burger can be found in two locations in Baguio City now.  (“,) There’s one at the Camp John Hay Mile Hi Center and the newest branch,  in Technohub.

The first time I got to try this burger was in 2009 when I had a coworker who was a big Brothers Burger devotee.  (Shout out to Chrysler! =D) He was such a fan of their burgers (really, also of food in general) that he kept an eye on the newspapers for the Brothers Burger anniversary.  You see, it’s their regular promotion to slash 50% off the price of specific hamburgers to commemorate another successful year.

Soledad’s: Where Memories of Good Home Cooked Food Come Back to Life

A common proverb in the Philippines goes; ‘Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan, di makararatíng sa paroroonan’.  (Literal translation: He, who doesn’t know how to look back on where he came from, will never reach his destiny.)  This can also apply to food when we take a look at the options we have for getting good food today.  Our society has developed so much in the food industry, that even the biggest brands for food in other countries, e.g., McDonald’s and Starbucks have found their way here.  Some had a little difficulty breaking into the Baguio market and some even failed (Wendy’s and Kenny Roger’s Roasters) but with the arrival of these restaurants, the number of places to eat at in the city had risen exponentially.

How the List was Made…

You hear it all the time that there are only a handful of places that you can get good food in the City of Baguio.  Before I started on my quest, I had the same state of mind.  The saying, ‘seek and you shall find’ applies to this situation.  If you only go to the places that are found in town, you’ll be missing out on a lot of things.  Let’s establish from here on out that there are many places to get good food in Baguio.  As we speak, there might be a new eatery or restaurant opening in the city.  Beyond the restaurants that you find on Session Road, there are gems to be found that have made it their mission to cater to our needs and our cravings in other parts of Baguio.  Let’s follow what the Good Book says and seek, so we can find.
