Tabligan’s a.k.a. Kambingan sa Scout Barrio and the Soup of Life \m/

Want good goat based dishes?  To the kambingan!  (eatery that serves goat dishes and other food)  In Baguio, one of the best places to get goaty good food is Tabligan’s.  They like to call themselves Kambingan sa Scout Barrio now.  Regardless of their name, they’re a reliable eatery to get Filipino dishes like goat adobo, kalderetang kambing, kilawin, and their signature dish sinampalukang kambing.

UPDATE: Army Navy Session Branch

In my October 7 post, Army Navy: To Enlist or Not to Enlist, That is the Question, I mentioned that the Session Road branch had a hazard of a side entrance.  With the door sill all ready to trip anyone who walks through, insult is added to the injury when you fall from the step.  (Ouchies, that’s what happened to me. *huhu)  When my brother and I paid a visit to Army Navy, I noted that the door sill was finally removed. Still BE VEWY, VEWY CAREFUL – Elmer Fudd tone – passing through that door, the step can still be slippery. (My sister’s friend is in a cast now, because of that blasted entrance.) RATING UPDATE 11/15/2012:  Ambiance:  Zero treasure chests for the Session Road branch for their hazard of a side entrance. How can you enjoy your meal when you’re writhing in pain or rushed to the hospital for a broken leg or a twisted ankle? =( DON’T enlist in Army Navy Session…that is unless you use their main door, the one closest to the street. =b For the love of your legs and ankles, avoid the side entrance at all costs!

Chef’s Home: Where the Flavors of Asia Converge

Cruising around the vicinity of Mines View/Wright Park, I noticed a particularly nice house being built.  (Finally, a house facing the main street/Mansion House.  I used to think about this a lot passing by to get to work at the academy.  If I had a house on that street, I would put my gate on Romulo Drive; it’s more accessible.)  As you already know, nice houses call to me and I so wanted to see what was beyond the interesting looking gate of this property.  (“,)  Good thing, it was meant to be Chef’s Home; a bigger and better establishment for Asian cuisine.  (Chef’s Home used to be in Apollo Store.  I guess, back then, it was a Chef’s store.  Mleh, corny. =b) [UPDATE 06/01/2015: Moved back to No.13 Outlook Drive (Apollo Store)] UPDATE 03/07/2018: Chef’s Home moved to #88 Unit C, Marcos Highway (Old Sicat Hotel), Bakakeng Central.
