How Things Changed in a Year …

Okay, a ton of things have changed in the city’s dining scene since I started this Baguio food blog *hihi, but I’ll just be featuring the most recent ones I noticed for this post. ^^, Ready for the ch-ch-ch-ch-changes?

1.) Forest Lodge

Used to be The Suites (the hotel/accommodation that stood in the shadow of The Manor and maybe one reason why it sounded so unreachable before was because it was exclusive to shareholders/tenants).  Oh yes, it’s fair game now. *heehaha  Le Twist (its inhouse resto), we’ll be having a food adventure in your dining area soon!  Weee!

Forest Lodge 19th Tee Baguio Back to the 80s anniversary party

A few of the goings on at the lodge’s anniversary party.
Theme: Back to the 80’s.
They called in the DJs from the old Spirits Discotheque to get the people pumping and grinding on the dance floor – which turns out to be the new 19th T(ee). (I used to have an ice cream scooping stint in the old 19th Tee, not really in the 80s =b but boy did that get me reminiscin’. Missing Myrtle and Biang now.) Cue Life Dance! Yeh!
Before the party officially started at 8:00 p.m., Forest Lodge served Le Chef made little munchies and cocktails (which Race and I missed the better and more scrumptious selections part of due to the weather, dang!) But Race, their highnesses, their friends (It was nice to meet you Kariza, Nikki and hubby. (“,)) and I got to top ourselves off with pulutan/finger foods once the party got hopping. *nomnomnom pulutan. =))

UPDATE: C Boutique Hotel … Angels, ‘meet Charley’.

All rightie, it’s confirmed. Charley’s is the name of C Boutique Hotel’s in house restaurant/bar. (I didn’t want to assume when Jo, Race and I went exploring what this accommodation had to offer in the way of munchables. *hee)

Anyhoo, due to the inclement weather we’ve had (Typhoon Nando’s in the Philippine area of responsibility now but I hope, it will leave the soonest *fingers crossed), I (probably everyone) didn’t get out much to check any restaurant off the list or even make a repeat visit to any of the places I liked. Boy, was I in the mood for Charley’s dishes.

It was fabulous timing that Maam Gracie of SkyCable’s Events Next Door invited my fellow blogger eatsplorers, Ane and Sam, and me to an exclusive food event at C Boutique. \m/

Kubong Sawali and My Attempt for A Last Summer Hurrah

Come to think of it, I didn’t really go on any kind of summer get away this year.  (Not that that matters.  There’s always rainy season, dry&cold season … and the beauty of that, we’ll get the resorts all to ourselves. *snickers) To make up for it, Race and I decided to have foodstuff that has a summer quality to it.

Xine and friends summer vacays (Isdaan Tarlac, Fontana Pampanga, Sumaguing Caves Sagada; Marlboro Country Racuh-a-Payaman Basco, Sabtang, Batanes; Pagsanjan Laguna, Lucban Quezon, Majayjay Laguna)

Summers come and gone in the Philippine Islands … (upper right photo, with Charlie’s angels, Midland Courier. Shout out to you all! =D)
